The host, servers, & bartender were fantastic. The food was really good and well flavored, but just tad too salty. Overall, a pleasant experience and I will return again.

Delicious, flavorful soul food. Pork chops and shrimp and grits were our favorites, along with the fried okra and too die for corn muffins. Excellent service and reasonably priced, great meal!

Horrible customer service. 15 minutes for water, no silverware provided until 15 minutes after our food arrived. Food is okay. Nothing spectacular. Save your money and time and go somewhere else! there are lots of other black owned restaurants to support in college park: Corner Grille, Noveau, ay tea elle 💘

It was my 1st time visiting and it was an ok experience! I was immediately greeted by Tanesha who was very friendly. Our waiter Jamal was ok we had to wait for a beverage longer than expected. My appetizers was 2 out of 5 I did not enjoy the okra they were very hard (but I was extremely hungry) however I will come back and try other items on the menu.

The food was great. But I felt like the wait servers were understaffed. I think at some point the kitchen will need to be expanded.

I was in town nearby for a conference, and went looking for a place that would have great southern food, and Virgil's was definitely that. The fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits were outstanding (shrimp and grits is both one of my favorite meals, so something I frequently order if I have the opportunity, so I have a lot of points of reference, and this was some of the best I've had anywhere)! I took the corn muffins home, and they were truly something special as well! I ended up sitting at a little counter next to the bar—it was packed when I arrived, though quieted down over the course of the evening—and so the bartender took care of me, and he was wonderful!

We enjoyed our food. It’s a small place. Lots of energy and good music, but it got quite loud so it was hard to have a conversation without raising your voice. It was weird to only get a fork with our napkins. I had to ask for a knife to cut my pork chop.

I made a reservation for 7:30 we got to the restaurant at 7:20. We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated because so one came in unexpectedly. After we agreed to wait the televise was horrible and the food was cold… When we told our server he told us it was just made and walked away.

Overall great experience...food was Amazing, was out of shrimp and grits...but 2nd choice didn't disappoint! Wine and cocktails were very nice! Music was a little loud, but still a nice spot! Will return soon!

My wife and I were visiting family for a birthday party and went to Virgil's for date night. The staff were very friendly and the food/drink were great. The restaurant is small but it also gives it a cozy, intimate vibe. Would definitely recommend.

Parking is a bit of hassle depending on the day and time you arrive. The food was flavorful and portion size didn’t disappoint. The music selection was cool, but a bit loud and kinda felt like I was yelling over the DJ

The food was OUTSTANDING! I enjoyed the great customer service by Jamal and the staff. Everything was hot and freshly made. I really enjoyed my experience. My family did so too. Definitely will come back to this place.

Virgil’s is by far one of my favorite brunch spots in Atlanta. I absolutely love the atmosphere, the food, and the impeccable service. I’m excited to return for another great experience.

The collard greens were tasty yet SALTY. This is my 2nd time trying the collard greens in which they were SALTY. I understand people taste is different yet each times adjacent strangers were voicing the same thing. The macoroni & cheese was tasty yet dry. The fried chicken wings & corn muffins was 1000% perfection. The waiter was attentive & pleasant.

Once the food arrived, it was good. The service was sketchy. One of my guests ordered gumbo and asked that it be served prior to the main course. The main course came out first so he then canceled the gumbo. Two of us had to ask for eating utensils after the food came out. The said that we would not be charged for the gumbo but it was on the bill anyway. They auto charged a 20% gratuity and we did not received 20% worth of service. There were a couple of other hiccups but I don't have the time to list. The manager did apologize but it is what it is.

Hello, I regret this evening didn't go better - we truly have a great reputation for good food, drinks and vibes. I was the Manager on Duty that evening - and I recall how disappointed the gentleman was to receive the appetizer so late. We could have done better. thank you for the feedback. Update to my review below: 1/29 - The manager reached out several times to find out how things could be improved from my visit on 1/15, and after visiting again I must say that my food and drinks were both on point this time. The only other time I visited (before 1/15/2024) was on the day the world closed in March 2020, and now I see how you all were able to stay open all of this time! 1/15 - Our server was great, but the food was just ok. The drinks were also too sweet, but the server fixed mine and brought my friend another shot to try to fix hers. Overall it was a good experience, but I expected more from the food & drinks.

Food was amazing. I was sad they did not have any Gullah egg rolls. Other then that the drinks were amazing and the staff was kind.

Found this place with google maps and always willing to try something new. Boy, I’m sure glad we did. Everything we ate was delicious and the kindness of the staff was notable. Great selection of music matched the ambiance. We will be back when we are in town!!
