Dante and his team are the new-kids on Moody Street, Waltham but old pros in the Boston area. Dante has been cooking in his home town of Abruzzo since 1979. His passion for cooking grew as explored the all the flavors and recipes of the Adriatic Sea which surrounded him. We are excited to bring our skills to Waltham where we welcome old friends and invite new ones to Vinotta Restaurant.

Vinotta Restaurant serves simple food made with fresh, wholesome, organic ingredients using locally sourced vendors. Flowing between classic and modern Italian favorites all made from scratch and sure to suit your palate. Domestic and imported wine selections to compliment food choices available for in-house and take out dining.

An outstanding Mother's Day dinner. As always, the staff at Vinotta were excellent and even the owner was there kindly greeting folks, despite recent knee surgery. The food is always top-notch. This time I had the Veal shank special: the best! Vinotta is our family go-to place for special occasions.

In my opinion, Vinotta is the best Italian restaurant in the state. The carbonara is excellent as is the veal Picatta and the lobster ravioli. The food is superb, they have a strong assortment that wines and the service Is fantastic. Yesterday we were served by Jorge who was well informed on the food and the wine. Just an outstanding experience.

The service was awful. We had booked thru opentable and they didn’t want to give us a regular table that we had requested. We did not want a high top. Only after 10 minutes of insisting them to honor our reservation did they finally give us the table we had reserved. The maitre de was rude about it. We ordered wine and the server forgot to bring it. We received it only after he was reminded when the entrees were brought out. In addition, the wine was spoiled with an acid flavor. Overall the food was mediocre. We will not go to this restaurant again or recommend it to others.

This is a go-to Friday night date place. Comfortably sophisticated decor. We love to sit at the bar. Rebecca is a great mixologist, engaging and fun. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. Always enjoy outstanding service in food. The seafood is amazing - great oysters on special this past visit. We'll be back again.

When we arrived, the hostess was on a personal call (which we know because she said I can’t talk right now, I’mat work). She proceeded to talk for quite a while, and then finally seated us. We were a party of two that was sandwiched next to a number of tables. The couple of the table next to us was talking so loudly that we couldn’t help but hear everything they said, and it was extremely unpleasant. They were very loud.

We had a late-night, post-theatre dinner on Sunday and the restaurant accommodated us with grace and efficiency. The food was excellent as was the service. This was a first-time visit and we will make a point of returning.

This was our 2nd visit within the last few weeks. There were 4 in our party. Food was excellent! We had the haddock and lobster ravioli. (2 of each) This restaurant is now our go to for Italian! Looking forward to our next visit.

The restaurant is lovely, but the tables are just too close together. When we sat it was empty on either side but as the tables filled there was no way to get up without bumping or getting bumped. The food was excellent and the waitstaff friendly and attentive. The octopus was beautifully cooked, as was the branzino. The pasta with sausage and broccolini was fresh and cravable The drinks were pricey for the size - tiny martinis. The restaurant is noisy, but an energetic ambiance can be nice depending on the mood.

Food was very good but not amazing. Our waiter had an attitude especially when we didn’t order a lot of drinks and dessert. Beautiful place.

Vinotta is fantastic. The owner is on the floor working the tables. He helps with wine and food decisions with great recommendations. He knows what to order, how to space it out. It’s just a great experience. Everyone is very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Terrific spot.

The four of us had a wonderful dinner with four different meals - all outstanding! Our servers were well informed and very attentive. The atmosphere is lovely and even though it is small, it was not noisy; we had no trouble having a conversation. We will be back for sure!

Everyone is very nice and was overall very enjoyable. Would recommend that they lower down the aggressiveness on ordering wine a bit. Way too pushy.

We love having family celebrations at Vinotta, because all three generations of our family enjoy the food there. It’s always fresh, chefs use the best quality ingredients and the service is excellent!! It can get busy on the weekend, so make reservations ahead of time

The food was good but my drink was terrible. Undrinkable. I had to send it back and finally just ordered a glass of wine. I don’t expect to come back which is disappointing because Red Bird was always very good and very dependable. I hadn’t planned to write a review but you asked.

Visited mid-week so the restaurant wasn't full. Service excellent and the food even better. Not inexpensive but good value. We'll be back for sure.

I went there for the first time a few weeks back and just loved this place. Small intimate restaurant with exceptional food and service. I had grilled octopus to start and had the seafood with homemade pappardelle, delicious. My SO had caprese salad with unbelievable mozzarella. They had the stripped bass which was delicious. We ended with some sambucca, espresso and tartufo. Great evening. My only comment is that seating for 2 is mostly at the bar or high tops near the bar (especially on Friday). We sat in the front near the window and I didn't feel like I was in the restaurant. Otherwise a great time and restaurant.

I love everything about this restaurant… EXCEPT for the high top seating that is considered “Standard”. I requested standard and was put in the high top seating near the bar. I need to be explicit next time and say I need a booth. Luckily everything else about the night was terrific.

Dined here on high recommendation of friends. Loved the formal, white-tablecloth setting and the general ambiance. The service was impeccable and the food (had two of the specials) was outstandingly delicious. It was overall, a delightful evening with another couple who were brand new friends. We will definitely return.

Vinotta may be the best Italian in Waltham. We enjoyed our meal, but they didn’t ask how well done I wanted my veal chop which, to my taste, resulted in a slightly overcooked piece of meat. They also claim to be able to do everything gluten free, however they could not provide gluten free bread. Despite this, the Burrata was delicious. And our other dishes were good to excellent. We were seated next to a post, the only such seat in the place, which made it difficult for my partner to use her arm — she was snug against it. It’s loud too. The spumoni bomba is delish.

We are located on Moody Street between Walnut and Spruce Streets. This year Moody Street is, yet again a pedestrian way from May 1 to October 31. Please note there is no parking ON Moody Street. There are municipal lots on Walnut, Crescent, and Spruce Streets.
