We are a family owned and operated country pub located in the heart of North East Victoria. Our pub offers contemporary Australian & Sri Lankan/Indian cuisine, in a charming atmosphere. Enjoy cocktails while dining alfresco during the lazy summer months, Or get cosy by the fire in winter. We pride ourselves on quality ingredients & stock local wines, spirits & soft drinks. Our staff are experienced & passionate about the industry. The Vine Hotel Wangaratta's history goes back to 1864 when the original licence was granted for the existing site. The present day building dates from around the 1880s and the bricks for the hotel were made on site from clay on the property.

Party of five and four of us had your famous scotch fillet which was up to your usual standard. A very enjoyable evening.

I had the $30 thursday steak special. It was excellent. Vicki and Jimmy are excellent publicans. Very friendly and up for a chat. The meals of the other people in our party were also excellent. Very generous serves.

a very pleasant surprise for a country pub for me to give 5 stars . many get 4 but we either lucked a good night or they can achieve it regularly - admittedly half full so just adequate staff numbers did a stellar job and the pub fare was great - despite some of the locals suggesting it's a bit sketchy in opening - make a call it's worth your while

The food was amazing and very fresh. Cooked to perfection. Well done to the chef and the owners for creating a very special place to come out to. The setting with the old furniture, wares, signs and beautiful lead lighting made the pub feel warm and inviting. Well done and we would highly recommend this lovely old pub to everyone.😊

I enjoy this place each time always comfortable and relaxing, peaceful and so much cool things to see around very cosy inside and nice outside the meals are good, price is fair, service is great and friendly I recommend this place to anyone very good

The only place I go to now when in Wangaratta, the meals are far and away better than any pub/hotel meal I’ve had before, that real home cooked country flavour /goodness, definitely a 10/10 for taste, size and value. The staff are just gorgeous so caring and attentive. As soon as I walk in it feels like stepping into a great big hug, full of warmth and comfort. I wish I lived closer, it would be my go to at least once a week. I cannot fault anything.

A lovely quiet place to dine inside or out on a summer's evening. Loads of historic ambience, very prompt service, reasonable prices, tethered dogs allowed. The menu could benefit from the addition of another 2 or 3 dishes, to give a little more choice, as would a few 'definitely gluten-free' dishes. Listing dishes as a 'gluten-free option', qualified by " . . may have traces of gluten" doesn't help those who are severely gluten-intolerant. Keep up the good work!

I always enjoy dining at The Vine Hotel. The food has never disappointed, the service always friendly and polite and the ambience of the old building is superb. I travel around 50km to eat at the Vine, and I feel it is worth the effort. I hope they never change their tried and true manner of operation. Well done The Vine & Staff.

It was good, chicken Snitz could've been cooked more and the ladies toilets need a good clean. Nice salads and chips and a nice beer garden.

Had lunch at the Vine, lovely greeting on arrival, our pup was allowed to walk out to the beer garden through the pub. Sat out in the garden in the cool shade, lunch arrived quickly, big meals and yummy to boot. Only downside (and not their fault) was a clay target shooting competition next door, glad our puppies first exposure to gunshots went ok. Will be back for sure.

Was very happy with the service and the food. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming would thoroughly recommend people to visit it at least once in their lifetime just for the history.

The Vine Hotel Wangaratta is an excellent place to eat. The service as soon as you walk in the door is fast and friendly. All meals were delicious and all plates were empty afterwards. A good sign when you have 3 kids who barely eat anything! We sat outside undercover and it was very enjoyable. We highly recommend to all visitors to Wangaratta.

Vicky made us most welcome on arrival. It was as if we were old friends. Jimmy, Ned Kelly look alike, was great with the drinks order. Food was divine and we didn't have to wait too long. I would recommend this hotel for a great night out.

“Old style” country pub with lots of vintage trinkets displayed. Not a huge menu but was enough for us with most of the typical pub menu items such as Parma and curries. Good local wine selection.
