Beautifully prepared and delicious food. We began with arancini, moved on to an eggplant parmesan appetizer, the house-made spinach-ricotta ravioli. Desserts -- cannoli and sorbets were delicious as well. An excellent wine list included a lovely chianti classico. The only negative was driving there through evening traffic, but at the end it was worth it all.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! Impromptu dinner out after having heard about it in an article -- loved the experience and the food! Cannoli was delicious, too.

The chef is very serious about food, ingredients, Italian authenticity, and preparation. Much attention to quality and detail. It as good as Italian food gets in Boston, which is saying something.

Wow! We went for brunch and it was just crazy delicious. The potatoes are perfect, crispy and tender—how do they do it?!—and somehow infused with rosemary, yum. We had the pancakes, think literal cake, and it may have been one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Who knew lemon and Nutella could be so smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced? My mom had the americano and said it was the best she’d ever had. The hype for this place is well deserved.

Complimenti, Stefano! I have lived in Rome so I can say that Stefano has truly brought la cucina romana to Boston. We had a terrific dinner. Highly recommend the caccio e pepe, gnocchetti al ragù, and the pollo alla romana. The flavors and variety of textures in that secondo were compelling and bright. Stefano and team very thoughtfully accommodated a nut allergy, too. He personally introduced himself and took a few minutes to explain his food safety procedures to reassure us. Great service from Daniele and team. Can’t wait to be back and to try the pizza!

Always incredible food, service, and experience. The brunch menu is fantastic, the frittata is delicious with the roasted potatoes that are to die for. Every single pastry is delicious. You can’t go wrong at Via Cannuccia

All I can say is WOW!! My husband & I celebrated our anniversary here & it was perfection to say the least. Small & intimate. Loved the ambience & the vibe. The staff was very welcoming. FYI we ordered lots of food as it was our 1st time & we live 1 hour away. So we had to go all out! We started off with 2 glasses of wine & the appetizer special Cacio e Pepe supplì (rice balls), they were soft & creamy in the middle & packed with so much flavor! We each got the gniochetti (same as gnocchi but there smaller) hubby got it with the bolognese & the chef was nice enough to accommodate my pickiness, so I had it with tomato sugo (marinara). Oh my goodness, these little pillows of love melted in our mouths. Even though we were full, we had to end our beautiful experience with dessert. We each got one dessert each, hubby got the crostata with amarena cherry & ricotta (sour cherry & ricotta tart) & I got the torta al latte bruciato (ciambellone brule with pastry cream), they were both heavenly!! We are espresso martini lovers, so had to have one! Our very nice waiter Leo was able to accommodate us once again & let us have a regular espresso martini instead of the one they offered (tiramisu espresso martini with rumchata & mascarpone cream) just too heavy of a drink for me, sounded amazing though. Ohhh we also, had to get the pizza to go because we heard so many amazing compliments. Our entire experience was impeccable! 1st off my parents are from Calabria, Italy, so to find a real authentic Italian restaurant, is nearly impossible. This restaurant serves food that isn’t even close to the north end in Boston. The difference is North end caters to the American people, (chicken parm, spaghetti & meatballs) Via Cannuccia offers the simple tasteful dishes that you find in Italy, which hits home for me. From the pasta, pizza & desserts, EVERYTHING is made in-house. Via Cannuccia also offers brunch, which I look forward to trying the next time. This restaurant is a gem!

Via Cannuccia is absolutely fantastic. Everything we ordered was so very good. The owners are very personable and go out of their way to make sure their guests are pleased. Their pastry and deserts are the best we have ever had.

Just the best Italian food anywhere (including the north end). My partner has been seeking great Italian food since he lived in Italy and this is one of the few places that has met his standards. The food is fabulous and authentic. The staff (particularly Danielli) are magnificant and graciously speak Italian with us. Today was our 5th trip. We tried the Brunch, and OH.MY.GOD was it good. The Frittata's were creative, delicious and piping hot, but the real kicker was the potatoes. Not your normal soft, tasteless potatoes, these were clearly par boiled and then cooked quickly in a hot fat. Crisp, hot, with a soft center. I'm drooling just writing this. We are making plans for our next dinner there.

Last night we got to celebrate Via Cannuccia's one year anniversary. It was fabulous! They put out such a tasty and beautiful spread, so thoughtful in the preparation and presentation. The company and hospitality were excellent, it felt like being a home with old friends. I am so glad we have such a gem in our neighborhood.

We love Via Cannuccia, we go as often as we can! The food is amazing and so is the staff; very inviting, friendly and a real sense of community there, with 5 star quality food. We go every weekend to get a loaf of bread from their bakery too! A real gem in Dorchester, one of the best restaurants in Boston. If you haven’t checked it out, what are you waiting for!?

The first impressions were ok. The fish was not prepared correctly and the amount of bone left in was disturbing. Between two of use we never finished it because of the amount of bone left and having to pick out of our mouth with each bit. The fish was cooked fine. The crust of the pizza was good, however the topping was to much for the size. I had higher hopes for dinner as their bakery options in the morning is really good. I would try them again in case it was just a bad night for them.

Amazing experience here! Every single person who worked there was so friendly and personable. The food was unbelievable and we will definitely be back! My 8 year old son said it’s his new favorite restaurant! The eggplant parm and aranchini were the real stars!!

What a great find!! We trekked over from Cambridge to give this spot a try for lunch, and it was lovely! Great portions, tasty food, kind staff and really nice ambiance. We will definitely be back for their pastries and pizza!

The food is excellant with pasta and bread made on site. One small criticism is that the server never mentioned the specials however when it was pointed out he offered to change our order if we wanted one.

The food here is fantastic. It's our 4th visit. Gonna try the brunch next time. The servers are warm and wonderful and my husband gets to speak Italian with them. The food is OUTSTANDING. Really seriously. The ambiance is great. We are always the noisiest people there.

this has been my 5th or 6th time here i still like it but it’s super loud , noisy definitely hard to hear your friends also , menu seems like there less options / choices , the short rib which was so good is now $40.00, our server was awesome but don’t need to rush back there any time soon …
