Via Brasil Restaurant has been serving up the best in Brazilian cuisine in midtown Manhattan in New York since 1978. With that many years under the belt, you can count on well-prepared traditional dishes that your family is sure to love. Only the freshest ingredients and highest quality meats are used in the flavorful dishes. A popular meat choice at Via Brasil is the grilled filet mignon. It is made extra special with a bacon wrapping and hearts of palm sauce. The churassco is another favorite. For seafood lovers, the grilled salmon with pineapple sauce is satisfying and delicious. The Via Brasil moquecas stew is also a winner as is the national Brazilian dish of feijoada complete. The authenticity extends to the bar with wines from Brazil and drinks made with the Brazilian liquor cachaça.

The experience at Via Brasil is consistently excellent. It is a MUST restaurant when we go to see a Broadway show.

While the dinners were OK for the other two, my Feijoada was at best fair and disappointing. The Sausage appetizer was mostly potatoes, and the sausages were fair in taste and could be prepared better than deep fried. The pricing was over the top for what was ordered with 3 cocktails and 3 Main Courses and two simple starters. It came to $80.00 a head

Izols was an outstanding server in every respect! He was highly courteous and kind, attentive and genuinely willing to be of service. The Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá main course and the Dulce de Leche with Brazilian Cheese dessert were very flavorful, delicious and aithentically Brazilian. Last but not least, I also enjoyed the beautiful and welcoming ambiance and deco, as well as the great Bossa Nova and Samba melodies that were played.
