Wonderful restaurant and food was outstanding. I am a bit turned off with the”unisex “ bathrooms. As a woman, I prefer to have a Ladies room.

Did the Mother's Day Brunch. Food was good, drinks were excellent, service was excellent, restaurant was loud. Two of us ordered steaks to be cooked at medium, both came out very rare, had to send back. The executive chef did come out and apologize (which did impressed me). I do want to return for their normal menu and give it a shot.

This was my second time at Vestal. We ordered the bone marrow, raw oysters, focaccia, ribeye, macaroni and cheese, mushrooms and crawfish bisque as well as a bottle of Cabernet. The first time the entire experience was top notch. This time the food was underwhelming, but our server was great. We drove in from Lake Charles and we won’t be back.

Vestal has great atmosphere/great vibe! The cocktail menu is fabulous and the food is even better. I had the short ribs! So tender and delicious! I have eaten at Vestal a few times and definitely going back!

This was our first time at Vestal; we decided to come celebrate our first anniversary. I’ve always heard great things but they are truly top tier! Service was fantastic and food was as well! Portion sizes were larger than expected and drinks were tasty and fun! We will be making our way back down to Vestal soon for another wonderful dining experience!

Anniversary date night! Oh my gosh! We tried all the things! Tuna appetizer. Roasted oysters. Pork Porterhouse. Crab Spaghetti. Fingerling Potatoes. Mac & Cheese. Mousse Cake. (We came home with lots of leftovers, haha!) Not a single bad bite of food! It was all magically good! The Pork Porterhouse was hands down our favorite of everything. Unexpectedly memorable and delicious!!! We highly recommend Vestal Restaurant for your date nights or special events. We absolutely loved our 2-hour, un-rushed meal together, and Daniel was a fantastic server! (Oh, and we learned that Tuesday nights are half-price wine and oysters! Good to know!) 😊

We had such a wonderful experience! We came from Baton Rouge before seeing a comedian at the Cajun Dome, and it made for such a perfect night. I have been wanting to go for a while since seeing the beautiful photos. It was 4 times the size that I imagined, the open kitchen was so cool, and the service was excellent. We had a business dinner here, and these are my takeaways: Pros - Super personable waiter. Courteous, kind, and enthusiastic. The drinks were all outstanding. Meatballs and Duck Fat Potatoes were amazing. It was not too loud and the playlist was great. Cons: -None of the waiter's recommendations were really spot on. For example, I asked about the blackened butter for my steak, and he described it as literally spicy cayenne seasoning in butter. What we received looked like pimento cheese and tasted like limes. I hated it. I wish he hadn't steered me away from the bone marrow butter. He also was sort of so/so about the meatballs but they were the best thing we ate, by far. -My straw had a hole in the side of it and the waiter uncovered and rubbed the entire new straw to ensure it didn't have any holes in it... I would have preferred to do that myself vs having him touch my whole straw. -All of our steaks were overcooked. I asked for Med-Rare and got Med-Well, and my companions asked for Med and got Well. It took a while to get them, and we didn't want to send them back. -The grilled wedge was an 8/10 but almost too charred to enjoy. The charred flavor overwhelmed the palate and you couldn't taste the other components. -The asparagus, tuna app, focaccia bread, and Brussels were all mid. The asparagus was uninspired. The Tuna was cut unevenly and too thick. The focaccia was like $10 for plain bread and butter, it had none of the described toppings. The Brussels were a less enjoyable version of the grilled salad. -The curved ceiling was so distracting, and I wish I had been seated anywhere else in the restaurant. -The creme brule had too much hardened sugar on top, and the donut bread pudding was sickly sweet. $400+ later and I didn't feel we had a great steakhouse experience at all. I probably would not return and I wouldn't recommend it again.

Every bite was extraordinary- flavorful and and tastebud ecstasy! Couple that with great service and an awesome space and that equals a fantastic evening. If there are 2 of you get a seat at the counter and you can watch the magic as the kitchen prepares amazing meals!.

Great meal & service overall. One of our steaks (filet) was delicious, but the other one (strip) missed the mark. It was quickly addressed by our server, the kitchen and manager. We’ll definitely be back, but won’t likely order the NY Strip again.

What a nice surprise! Was in town to officiate a sporting event at ULL, and my wife was with me, so I randomly chose this place based on reviews. It was one of the most pleasant dining experiences we have had in a long time. It’s downtown and the place was hopping. Open kitchen, with outstanding food and service. I would call this eclectic food and WOW did they create some flavors that made my taste buds happy. Kudos to the entire staff for being pleasant and welcoming. When we left all three chefs made a point to happily thank us for coming as did everyone else, how refreshing! Easy to give them five stars, but again let me say they earned it, the food and service was OUTSTANDING!

This was our second time dinning at Vestal. We love seating in front of the large fire oven, besides the opportunity to watch the chefs it helps counter the pumped up AC. Food was delicious; I would rate it higher but for the fact of temperatures being off and prices very high.

The restaurant was a little loud, but otherwise it was a beautiful and intimate setting. It was pretty dim inside with modern decor. The food was the star. We indulged with a wide sampling of the menu- bone marrow, oysters, crawfish bisque, beef tartare, foccacia, and crab spaghetti and everything was fantastic but the real star was the Lenten special of the Thai mussels. Literally the best thing we’ve ever eaten. Tender and bursting with flavor. I’d go back just for those. The drinks were also delicious and the service was great. Wonderful dinner with my love.

This was our second visit to Vestal. We requested a quiet table in the back and were seated next to the kitchen and a noisy party of 10 people. The food was very good but the restaurant was so loud, we couldn't hear ourselves talking. Don't eat here if you want a quiet meal.

Everything was delicious. I usually comment on each and every dish and beverage but honestly they were all amazing. We started off with spinach and artichoke dip. We shared a wedge salad and crawfish bisque. I had the whole fish, and my wife had the gulf catch fish of the day. We finished it off with a special pear desert. The drinks were the Dick Whittington and Italian wine.

Aside from their culinary mastery and expertise in mixology, Vestal consistently achieves what should be every restaurant’s ideal: the experience of welcoming a guest into their home. Had a great experience at Vestal overall. The visit was for our anniversary, which I had designated upon reservation. Most “nice” restaurants in Lafayette (I.e. Tsunami, Ruffinos, etc) acknowledge special visits, but vestal did not. Not a huge deal, but just an observation. It took over 10 minutes once we were seated before our server acknowledged us, which, again, is unusual, in my opinion, for a “fine dining” restaurant with very high prices and an a la carte menu. It was a Saturday night and a special evening, so we were in no particular rush. The food was great as expected and the drinks were unique and tasty. Our server was very friendly and we shared some laughs with him, which actually allowed us to overlook the things that I listed here. He also gave us some great, honest suggestions when we asked questions about the menu items. We will definitely be back in the future.
