VELA, our ground-floor restaurant and bar, is excited to be back in action with comfortable outdoor seating available. Begin your day with us and our new and improved breakfast menu. Tired of working indoors, our super fast WI-FI makes it easy and your zoom calls can have a new background. It's always 5:00 somewhere at VELA, our talented bartenders make a mean cocktail which partners well with our creative and fresh appetizers, or anything else for that matter. Need a new go-to spot for dinner? All of our classic and incredibly flavorful entrees are $30 and under, designed and perfected from scratch by our incredibly talented Executive Chef, Guara Pimenta.

Join us from 6-8pm while we welcome Jose Ramos and Mike Crutcher as they make their debut at Vela Seaport! The improvisational concepts of jazz and blues became key in his discovery of New Orleans funk, along with phrasing and groove. In the spirit of this newfound groove, Mike collaborated with a few local music legends such as Jose Ramos, founding Trick Bag, New England’s favorite New Orleans-inspired funk ensemble. They will be joining us to create an incredible experience while you can cozy up and grab dinner or a drink at the bar!

The food was excellent. We were a little taken aback by the 18% service charge that was automatically applied as we’re not used to that and it was mentioned anywhere (on the menu, for example) until it showed up in the bill.

Ordered the scallops, and due to the marmalade it is served with the dish was inedible. The scallops were also not cleaned properly. No apologies given from either the wait staff or manager. Poor value overall even with the decent appetizers and desserts. They were also out of 1 dish when we arrived, a second one (the scallops ironically) after we arrived, and they were also out of 1 dessert. Possibly not their fault, possibly poor planning by whoever orders supplies.

The food just did not taste good. The flavor combinations were bad, very off flavors, and overly salted. Would not eat here again.

Nice little spot. We really enjoyed our food. Services was also quite nice. We had a slight mishap where one of our dishes was forgotten by staff, and we didn’t notice we were still charged for it. Oh well.

The food was wonderful, my wife and I had the Salmon which was great. Overall the menu is really well thought out, we have eaten there several times and have always been impressed. It was clear the staff truly cares about your experience as the server was incredibly attentive and the manager even stopped by to make sure all was well.

Great addition to the Seaport. Management on site was very gracious and welcoming. Staff excellent. Food was very inventive & good, adding nice variety to the array of Seaport restaurants. Food was a little slow coming out. Wine selection very limited, but we were informed that there were bottles not on the list and they did a great job helping to get us a couple of good bottles of wine.

Really lovely experience. Good food, make a huge effort to make you feel comfortable and provide information. Mohammed our server was fantastic. Would recommend.

The salmon and peaches were phenomenal as was the key lime pie in a jar! The GM, Cheyenne and our waiter, Mohammed went over and above to make sure our dining experience was exceptional.
