Reservation was for 4 adults. I listed it was a special occasion ( birthday) Unfortunately we were brought to the very back room which the server said would be great for minors. I said we do not have any minors in our group. We were seated next to a door by where I could hear dishes being washed. I asked to be moved. We were told no. So we tried to make the best. Ordered wine to celebrate and when server returned to take our order which we were not ready he reminded us we had to be out by 6:30pm for his next table. So we quickly ordered. Food was good. Experience was not. The atmosphere is what I like about the Vault. It was not what I expected when spending $180 before tipping.

We showed up at 4:00 p.m. planning to have a light Happy Hour meal. The ambience was excellent and our server was excellent. The food rated a B. I was annoyed that the brussel sprouts featured online at $8 for happy hour were $15 on the printed menu. The happy hour featured $5 glasses of house wine. I know my wine, and this was barely drinkable. So, a few things for management to take care of. Yet, I would go again but probably will first check out some of the many restaurants available in Downtown Albany.

Typical excellent meal, drinks, and service. Enjoyed a great meal with visiting family. Vault 244 is our go to restaurant in downtown Albany when we want a fine dining experience.

Delicious food, great selection of wines, awesome staff. Overall one of the best places in Albany to go and get a nice dinner.

Great night out. We were seated in the bar area a bit louder and many people walking past the table. Other than that we will return, but we will request seating away from the bar area.

Food was amazing. Perfect portions, cooked perfectly, plated nicely, server was charismatic and fun. Only complaint is for a nicer restaurant, I would expect nicer beers on tap. Bone marrow, hands down DELICIOUS!

Both steaks at the table were cooked wrong so they were sent back. It took an hour to get new steaks. Meanwhile myself and the other guest who recieved the food awkwardly ate. Her dish was a salmon so eating hot is the best but she picked at it since half our table didn't have their food. When the new steaks came out one was a NY Strip and the other the Top Sirloin. The sirloin didn't have the caramelized mushrooms on it and it was cooked rare instead of the medium rare it was ordered at. The NY Strip was rare which was ordered at well done. It was not edible. The server offered to have it re-cooked but at that point we had already waited an hour for those two steaks to come back. When we brought it up to the server her response was the cooks don't know how to cook steak... She took off the NY Strip and offered us free dessert. The crembrule was cold and barely had the carmalized sugar on top. When I asked to speak with a manger I was told there was non onsite and she was the only one in charge. She said the meal was fine and she would allow us to take home the NY Strip to cook it ourselves. Thoughtful yes, however did not take into account that we didn't get to eat together, and the steaks were both still wrong the second time. We hardly go out because of young kids and two people came into town to visit so we never get to sit and eat together. We weren't leaving until after 9pm. We had to pay our babysitter overtime and paid a ton of money for a really sub par dinner. The cost of both those things would not have mattered at all of the food was correct. There was a large party that was in the back so it was busy and the team was doing the best they could. However, if a plate gets sent back because it wasn't correct that ticket should be prioritized and it clearly wasn't, and the "apology" shouldn't be that the cooks don't know how to cook steak. I won't recommend due to the follow up and response from the server, food mistakes happen.

I really like this place! They've got a great menu and a lovely vibe. But every time I have visited, the service is painfully slow. I really love good service, and The Vault does not have it.
