Vaso's Mediterranean Bistro is a fine dining restaurant serving Greek-inspired cuisine from the Mind of Chef Vaso Volioti. With a range of authentic, house-made salads, gyros, platters, filo-based appetizers and mouthwatering entrees, it's easily one of the best Mediterranean restaurants around. The dining area is large, relaxed and modern and there's a fully stocked bar with great wine selections to pair with your meal. The staff at Vaso's Mediterranean Bistro is friendly and knowledgeable.

We have been in Alexandria, Old Town area, 1118 King Street, serving and supporting our community, for more than 15 years, always committed to bring our best in quality, taste, safety and respect that characterizes us.

Vaso's Mediterranean Bistro is open for lunch and dinner every day. You can also reserve the second floor for parties and special events or ask about catering an event you're holding elsewhere.

                                                                                          The meals my wife and I had were incredibly delicious. I ordered the flounder stuffed with spinach and feta cheese in a lemon sauce which came with a side of pasta. The pasta comes with meat sauce however I asked for plain which I mixed into the lemon sauce. My wife ordered the lamb chops which came with a side of pasta which she asked for plain also. IMO, nobody prepares lamb chops as good as the Greeks do. I gnawed on the bones after my wife was done. The service is very friendly and good. We’d definitely dine here again when in the area.

                                                                                          We knew the restaurant would be busy, but never dreamed they would walk us to a back room to eat. I asked if we could sit in the dining room and she said no, that’s for parties of six, and we were a party of 4. I said I have reservations, so should be able to sit in the dining room. She looked at me and said wasn’t possible. We has brought friends there, and we all just went along. The waiter did what he could to make it a pleasant evening, but failed. He was too busy with other guests. When the only other party seated in that room (a party of 10) left, no one else was seated in the room. Fortunately, we ordered an appetizer, as dinner took and hour and half to arrive. The restaurant should not have taken my reservation if this was the only table available.

                                                                                          We had a table upstairs and we had a disabled guest who could walk upstairs (with care) but requires a right hand railing to walk down. The stairs did not have a railing on the right side of the stairs to hold onto. So the guest had to sit on the steps and make their way down. If the restaurant has an elevator, it was not mentioned or offered. at minimum, the restaurant should have warned us the stairs or sat us downstaris

                                                                                          Vaso's provides an inviting venue in Old Alexandria. Service was better than average. Food was disappointing - Oyster's Rockefeller were smothered in far too much spinach, lamb chop marinade resulted in liverish flavor, lamb shank was poor quality cut and inadequate braising.

                                                                                          The food was as always REALLY yummy ! Fresh and light and perfectly portioned . I stopped going for a while because they didn’t have a decent red wine ….. now they DO!!! It was great ! Generous pour and nice California blend I will be back …..and often !! PS service was fabulous !
