Peter and Diane Hall & Chef Derek of Van Rensselaer's proudly continue to serve the freshest locally caught seafood, superbly prepared meats wonderful poultry, and a wide variety of salads, in addition to great homemade sauces, and desserts
Desserts are homemade and Chef Derek was written up for being a top Hawaiian Baking Chef in Hawaii for his Bread Pudding.
We have two small patios, open air with heaters and umbrellas as needed, An eight table screened in awning covered porch as our outside areas.
Our inside tables are well spaced, with black linen table clothes. Staff is noted for its professionalism and friendliness. We welcome you to Van Rensselaer's.

We are proud to say we are Level 1 Green certified! Check out our newly renovated bar for dinner or just a drink.

We were seated in a timely manner Our waiter Arrived promptly and took our drink order Appetizers of calamari were perfect Everyone’s dinner order was prepared to order and all were excellent The owner came to our table several times to make sure everything was ok Great restaurant with excellent help

When we first sat down ,there were some very loud people at the next table. Overall my pasta dish could have used more lobster . my friend got a prime rib and it was very chewy . The best part was the waiter , he was wonderful.

I have been to VAN Rs many times. It is my go to place for having a great dining experience. Peter and Diane are so accommodating and I have never had anything but a great experience here.

This is a great restaurant run by great people. Peter, Diane and their entire family have built a consistently superior dining spot that is our favorite restaurant on the Cape. Restaurants closer to Boston could learn a lot from these folks. Also the BEST expresso martini on the planet.

We were visiting from DE and met up with family members who live in Wellfleet, very nice restaurant and a great evening! The food was very good! We will come back next time we visit!!

Hands down one of the most elite experiences I have had in my life. You cannot miss on a single item here. From the stellar service, INCREDIBLE seafood and desserts that are straight out of your dreams (you must get the bread pudding) I can say with 100% certainty that this will be somewhere that you will go again. Words cannot describe - you just have to go for yourself. Kudos to the owners, chef and entire staff!!! Can't wait to be back!!!
