Peter and Diane Hall & Chef Derek of Van Rensselaer's proudly continue to serve the freshest locally caught seafood, superbly prepared meats wonderful poultry, and a wide variety of salads, in addition to great homemade sauces, and desserts
Desserts are homemade and Chef Derek was written up for being a top Hawaiian Baking Chef in Hawaii for his Bread Pudding.
We have two small patios, open air with heaters and umbrellas as needed, An eight table screened in awning covered porch as our outside areas.
Our inside tables are well spaced, with black linen table clothes. Staff is noted for its professionalism and friendliness. We welcome you to Van Rensselaer's.

We are proud to say we are Level 1 Green certified! Check out our newly renovated bar for dinner or just a drink.

Everything just fabulous. From the welcome, to being shown to our table, to explaining the menu + restaurant week options. Everything we ordered — 7 courses between 2 people - was divine. Great oysters, sublime lobster cake & on & on. And the cider was neither too sweet nor too dry. Perfection. Outdoor covered patio charming. Waitstaff welcoming & professional. Eager for next visit.

A true gem on the outer cape. Everything from my pomegranate martini to my bread pudding was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

The food is OUTSTANDING. The people are Great. Our server, Lisa was absolutely fantastic. Peter does a wonderful job taking care of everyone and everything. I’d give it ten stars.

We visited Van Rensselaer’s during Wellfleet Restaurant Week and sampled from the special menu for the week. The options were varied and delicious. We had a lovely evening and will return when we next visit the Cape.

Staff was very friendly and engaging. Food was great quality. Three different dining options, indoor, covered Outdoor and outdoor patio. Bar was nice.

The food was just okay; not worth the cost. My shrimp and scallop pasta dish needed more flavor. The drink and dessert prices are high too. The wait staff was very friendly.

We were seated in a timely manner Our waiter Arrived promptly and took our drink order Appetizers of calamari were perfect Everyone’s dinner order was prepared to order and all were excellent The owner came to our table several times to make sure everything was ok Great restaurant with excellent help

When we first sat down ,there were some very loud people at the next table. Overall my pasta dish could have used more lobster . my friend got a prime rib and it was very chewy . The best part was the waiter , he was wonderful.
