Popular place where all the locals go to and an excellent place to eat when staying at Hilton Garden inn. Excellent customer service. Food portion is great. The crispy Brussel sprouts and grilled chicken wings was very tasty! Will be back!

Disappointing experience last evening....my entree( gemelli with Boursin etc ) was poorly presented in a far too small dish that was almost overflowing at the top...the chanterelles and other ingredients were in it somewhere.....not quite what l was expecting. though it tasted okay. I didn't take home what l didn't eat. The Basque cheesecake was very disappointing, cold, hard, dry. Chef needs a new recipe for that or at least learn what it's supposed to be like. My dining companion enjoyed her Salmon Caesar salad and soup.

It was our wedding anniversary which I mentioned in the comments on the app. They had a quiet more secluded table set aside for us with a handwritten card from the staff. Those little touches on top of the food, atmosphere and staff will keep us coming back.

The service here was outstanding! We came here for my girlfriend's birthday and they gave her a birthday card plus free dessert! Our waitress was super friendly and professional! We ordered their chicken tacos, acre burger and cheese curds which were delicious! Highly recommend coming here if you haven't!

We paid an uncharged for the dinner rolls of $7 and received mediocre rolls. The salad greens were bitter beyond edibility. That was taken off my bill. The salmon was good. Great ambiance.

This was one of the best resturant experiences I have ever had, with a group from Houston Texas, and they were all very impressed. Everything from the waiter, to the drinks, to the food. All in all, 10/10

Celebrated our 25 year anniversary. They had a nicely written and thoughtful card waiting for us at our table. We sampled the smoked platter, excellent, highly recommend. One of our steaks wasn’t prepared as requested but our server caught it before it came out. She had them redo it and let us know there would be a slight delay, not a big deal. We appreciated her attentiveness. They also gave us a complementary dessert for our anniversary, delicious! Great dinner, great service, a great evening.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on a Thursday night before a Friday funeral in Mosinee. Planned on going out to eat after we checked in, but scanned the menu & decided to eat there. I had the stuffed pepper stew & my wife had a small salad with the filet added option. And we had the bread service. Everything was absolutely delicious! We also had cocktails—the smoked manhattan & the sidecar—perfectly executed.

Went to Van Acre to celebrate our Anniv which was Easter Sunday in 2024 - our first experience here & we was amazed by the excellent service & food!! Most DEFINITELY would recommend to anyone looking for fine dining for a special occasion!!!

This was the perfect place to spend our anniversary dinner. Amazing atmosphere, incredible and friendly service and delicious food loaded with so much flavor! Those cheese curds!!!! One of the best dining experiences we’ve had.

Beautiful restaurant layout and I am anxious to try one of the igloo rooms some day. The only very minor thing was the noice volume due to proximity of some of the seating, but that was not entirely the facility's fauly. Great service and the food was delicious.

Enjoyed an amazing dinner with my love in a quaint booth near the window.lovely evening with incredible food which included arancini, a chopped salad and a salmon filet like I have never had before. Highly recommend!

We had an excellent experience both times we’ve eaten at Van Acre. Our servers were knowledgeable, helpful, and did not rush us. The food was wonderful! We would highly recommend that you give Van Acre a try.

We love this restaurant!!! Food, service and ambiance are amazing. It is a bit pricey for Wausau, but it's definitely a treat. The bar/drinks are outstanding. This is a must go on our once a year trip to Granite Peak. Keep up the great work!

A high-end restaurant with a very professional wait staff and a casual and fun, yet upscale environment. The entrées here are of unbelievable quality with beautiful presentation and wonderful flavors. This is definitely a hidden gem of Wausau.

Honestly, one of the best meals and service we’ve had in along time! Robert was absolutely amazing! His knowledge and descriptions of the food were incredible. We had a party of 6 and we had the private dinning room with fireplace. We all loved the room! The food was amazing! We had Brussels sprouts, dates, to start. Delicious! We had filets, pork chops and a steak salad, wood fired flavors and done to perfection! Deserts were delicious cranberry tart, chocolate cake and cheesecake. We will be back again! We will highly recommend to others! Thank you!

This is one of the best restaurants in Wausau. For visitors staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, they are treated to a wonderful experience. You will not be disappointed dining here.

My husband and I had an excellent experience at Van Acre. Our service was fantastic, food was delicious and arrived quickly, and the restaurant was lively and upscale but very comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful card and congratulations we received from the staff upon learning we were there to celebrate our anniversary. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be returning.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They had a personalized card for us congratulating us on our anniversary. In celebration, we were given a dessert on the house. Food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

I don't have anything negative to say about Van Acre. It was my first time being here and we were all impressed from start to finish. The food was outstanding and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was very relaxing and comfortable. Our server was very busy but she did a great job.

Great drinks, trendy atmosphere, the food is delicious! Highly recommend the wood fired pizzas. The service is exceptional, from the hostess to the bartenders to the servers, they are there to make sure your experience is a great one!

We had our book club here and Sean was so kind to put us in the private dining room. The location was fabulous with its fireplace and comfy chairs and the ability to converse as we enjoyed an amazing meal and drinks. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the food as well as the attention to customer service.

My wife and I celebrated our Anniversary here, the food selection was adequate. We started with the Arancini, then both chose Black Angus Ribeye that was perfectly medium rare. On the ribeye there was a semi sweet compound butter, the ribeye was sitting atop a delicious potato side. We absolutely will be back.

I would love to see crème brûlée or another gluten free dessert option on the menu.

The scallops were amazing. Our server was friendly and attentive. The energy of the restaurant was over the top- a little noisy but not too much.
