A casual and easy atmosphere with upscale food and presentation. Food was so good- all of us really enjoyed our meals. Fantastic experience, albeit a bit loud. Can’t wait to come back.

Address is listed as “8 Mechanic St.”. That’s where the outdoor seating is. However NO SIGN ANYWHERE, not on the building or the fence. I called and was told the entrance was in the rear which turned out to be the next street over where there was limited parking. My cod was served with broccoli rabe, stems so tough they would not succumb to the knife. The fish, apparently broiled, was overcooked and crunchy on the edges served over polenta with a sauce drizzled on top. Caesar salad was tasty and generous. My son enjoyed his fish tacos. A sign on the fence with the restaurant name and address indicating “parking in the rear on Bird St.” would be nice.

We had the option to sit outside, and chose to do so. There was live music/musician who was lovely (but a bit loud). He did take a break every third song or so, and we did not have a problem conversing. Our server was friendly & attentive. Zero rush and allowed us to take our time deciding on our options. Appetizers (cheese curd and Buffalo cauliflower) were delicious. Mango habanero margarita and our other drinks were also tasty. Salmon with succotash and the shrimp tacos were delicious. Will definitely return again!

We sat at the bar and the service was great. We also got 15% off our bill because we were seeing a show at the Rodman Center!

We have been to Union Straw a few times over the past couple years. The food is great. This time around it took a very long time to be greeted after seating. We ordered promptly, but still had to wait for over 45 minutes to be served. this was not our typical experience. However, I felt compelled to write the review.

Great spectrum of food and drink choices. From appetizers to burgers to flatbread to entrées. Good selection of beers on tap too. Not too many choices, just right.

My new favorite restaurant! The food was so amazing and so were the drinks. I dined with my children and the staff were amazing with them. We sat next to the kitchen and watched them crank out dishes one after another, completely nonstop. Their work ethic was astounding. Our meals did not suffer at all. Perfectly cooked, tasted so good! We didn’t mind waiting for the food because we kept ordering one amazing cocktail after another. They were soooo good. We will definitely be back!!!
