Ulu Kitchen by Merriman is an ocean front restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service featuring local ingredients and recipes created by chef Peter Merriman.

We have indoor and outdoor dining options, with a full bar, and the most prime dining views in all of Ka'anapali. The breakfast menu features classic favorites like Eggs Benedits, omelettes, pancakes, as well as some unique dishes like the cure (breakfast ramen) and our Hawaiian chilaquiles.

Lunch features our signature smash burger, fresh ahi tuna poke bowl, tempura battered fish and chips, and a fresh local veggie wrap.

Dinner has a seafood forward menu featuring Ahi Sashimi, Grilled Tako, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli. From the land we offer a USDA Prime Beef Filet Mignon, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Cheeseburger, and Maui Nut Venison Loin.

    Overall good. We ordered broccoli salad very good. The hamburger very good. Menu needs a few more items under $35 for Mains. And few more appetizers. Add some of Merriman items from kapalua. Only complaint charged us $25 corkage for non alcoholic wine. My wife can not drink alcohol but I ordered 2 glasses of wine for me.

    Beautiful beach front setting with gorgeous sunset views. Inside ambiance was very nice. Our server was sweet and very responsive. The restaurant changed hands in January and seems to still be getting things worked out. The menu was just so-so and they served the Pinot noir chilled.

    The best meal we’ve had in Maui, hands down. From the drinks, to desserts, everything was amazing.

    Food was just average. I had macadamia nut fish. It was cooked well but lacked something in flavor. My husband had the filet. Lacked in flavor and sauce was bland. Mashed potatoes were like soup. Pineapple dessert was horrible. It was very hot inside. We had 5pm reservation and sun was in our eyes most of the time. Need ceiling fans and blinds.

    We had a wonderful dinner at Zulu kitchen!!! We were placed at a table over looking the sunset and enjoyed delicious food! Fresh sashimi and fish were divine. Our waiter Nick was incredibly thorough explaining the menu to us and so accommodating to our two young kiddos we brought with us! A beautiful spot with beautiful food.

    We dined on 6/7. I randomly selected this place because we decided last minute to go out. (And we’re fans of Westin properties). I’m SO glad we did! We got there about 15 minutes before dinner and the bartenders were so nice. Gentleman with a beard and pony tale and another dark haired man. He said there was a few minutes left on Happy Hour so we grabbed some Mai Tais (and Mocktails for the kids) and enjoyed the view until dinner. We got a lovely table that the hostess promised us would be in the shade for the duration of dinner and she was spot on. Long dark hair as well. The server’s name was Tauley Kai and she went above and beyond. Definitely request her :). This was such a great, relaxing, fun evening for my family of 4. We can’t wait to go back and hopefully stay on property next time!

    We had an absolutely fantastic dinner! First of all we are fans of Merriman's in general. While I read some mixed reviews on the place we wanted to try it nonetheless. It did not disappoint and we will definitely be back. When we arrived for dinner and waiting for the hostess the bartender called us over and asked us if he could get something started for us, so of course we ordered two Mai Tai's. The hostess did not rush us while we enjoyed our drink at the bar talking to the bartender about what is good on the menu. Once we were ready to be seated the hostess let us choose our table. Justin was our waiter, and he was fabulous!!! Great service. The food did not disappoint at all. We got the strawberry and fried goat cheese salad which was perfect. For our main we got the mahi mahi and the venison. We both substituted the rice for the mashed potatoes with no issues whatsoever. If you are dining near Whaler's village, give this place a try. There is also 3 hour free parking at the hotel. Take your ticket with you and the hostess will validate and then you have to take to the front desk on the way out. It was a perfect evening.

    We had some wonderful meals and dining experiences during our week in Maui. Ulu far exceeded them all! Food was amazing,ambience and location the best. Service was outstanding.
