Honest, homely and simple traditional Asian cooking

Located at Notting Hill Gate, ULI offers a fresh, honest approach to Asian cuisine. Natural limed oak, soft tones of blue and contemporary art give the restaurant a clean and informal look, highlighted by a hanging garden of pendant lights. Our menu encompasses carefully selected dishes from Asia, all prepared using traditional Chinese, Thai, Malay and Singaporean disciplines. We believe that Asian food should be clean, fresh and healthy, and that each dish should always be made from scratch.

Originally established on the All Saints Road in 1997, ULI became a firm favourite among locals and critics alike. At its new home ULI serves lunch and dinner all week as well as an extensive range of snacks, cocktails and beverages.

    One of our favourite Chinese restaurants, for all the right reasons. Open late, so great for after theatre, and very welcoming service. All of our favourite Chinese dishes, including duck, chili beef, bok choi, etc.

    We live locally and this is a very good local restaurant. Lovely food, good choice of wines plus they do carafes which is a huge bonus. Light, bright, clean and comfortable. And full of locals!

    We came for my birthday last night and loved it. They were a little slow to bring out the starters but compensated with a free round of drinks. Will definitely come again

    Great food, very polite and professional waiters and we were the last ones in the restaurant, but they have waited until we left without pressure. Rosé from Vidauban was perfect too!

    The food was outstanding. I would recommend the vegetable Dimsum and the Springrolls as starters to share. If you like a Negroni, try it with a twist, the Asian Negroni was brilliant. Great service!

    Service was very slow and not attentive. The seating a bit too cramped, the photos don’t do to justice, too many tables and little privacy. And constant traffic at the door from take away drivers picking up deliveries. The food was good but overpriced for what it is. There are many better venues in Notting Hill. A shames as I had been meaning to try Uli for a while. I find better value at Ukai in comparison.

    The staff were delightful and helpful. The food was embarrassingly bad.. Wagamama is better than what was served to us. The noodles were fine. Starters tasteless and tiny. Thai green curry watery and bland. For the price point I would expect better. Such a shame as the location is fantastic and the restaurant very cute.

    Great meal for my Dad's birthday. Very tasty Chinese food in a comfortable interior with really charming and helpful staff. Will definitely go back (again)!
