Tseen-Ja pays homage to the culinary culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. The chefs skillfully and respectfully create dishes that harmonize flavors to perfection using fresh, seasonal ingredients and ancestral Japanese methods.

Place is very nice and romantic. Food is very expensive and didnt think it was worth it. We ordered rib eye and crab legs, bao buns and a sushi roll. Plus 2 cocktails. Total for 2 ppl was about $400… i would probably just order sushi rolls next time which was my favorite dish.

Unless you’re there for Instagram photos I wouldn’t bother. £500 for a table outside (£250 of that is apparently paying for the experience). Biggest con I’ve ever fallen foul to.

So we were at this place back in May 2021. At that time I gave them a five star review. Everything was amazing. Food was great, service was great. Music was amazing. Drinks were delicious. What a difference this may. We made Reservation thinking it’s gonna be busy. They were not busy at all. I guess this is slow season in Tulum right now. When you make a reservation on OpenTable, they ask you if you are celebrating anything and we were celebrating our 33rd anniversary. We arrived with a couple friends. Had few drinks, order some food. Drinks were pretty good. Food came in weird order. It was very interesting because restaurant was not busy at all. Maybe there was another two or three tables. we had an issue with one of the dishes and the manager came over to talk to us about it and he said that well it is what it is they will not take it off of the menu. That’s just how they do things. Well, I’m not the person who just agrees with everything so obvious I pushed back and got the item taken off of the bill. But attitude is unmatched. For a restaurant that’s not busy at all, the way they treat the customers it is ridiculous. We will never come back to this place. Probably it will not matter to them, but it will matter to me Because I don’t want be treated like a second class citizen. I’m not bougie or anything like that. I just need good customer service. Being in the industry for more than 15 years, it’s not hard. You have to have a little bit of people skills and a smile on your face. Everything else can be taken care of. But not with the attitude they have here. Obviously everything is overpriced. Like everything else is in Tulum and I don’t see myself coming back to this place. Oh by the way, nothing was done for anniversary. I wonder why you ask if we are celebrating anything if you don’t even mention it.

The views were breathtaking the food was so delicious, the design of the nests Gorgeous! I suggest you go with your credit card because this place isn’t cheap but I think the experience was worth it.

Desastre. Violento. No vale lo que cuesta. El sushi es de lo más ordinario. Y se desarma. El baño, sucio. Se cayó literalmente la tapa del dispenser de toallas de papel sobre mi mejilla. Me dejó un moretón. El gerente se disculpó apenas. Y propuso arreglar la situación trayendo unos “petite fours” que no eran más que 4 escasos caramelos. Mi marido calificó la situación de humillante. Por supuesto que la cuenta vino abultada (dejamos la propina del 15% para el mozo que no tuvo la culpa). Aún hoy estamos con dolor de estómago y dudando de si incluso algunos de los pescados estaría en mal estado. El peor festejo de aniversario. Pero nuestro amor sigue intacto. Disaster. Violent. It's not worth what it costs. The sushi is the most ordinary. And it falla apart. The bathroom, dirty. The lid of the paper towel dispenser literally fell on my cheek. It left me a bruise. The manager barely apologized. And he proposed to fix the situation by bringing some “petite fours” that were nothing more than 4 meager candies. My husband described the situation as humiliating. Of course the bill came in large (we left the 15% tip for the waiter who was not at fault). Even today we are with a stomach ache and doubting whether even some of the fish would be spoiled. The worst anniversary celebration. But our love remains intact.

Pésimo!! Primero pedimos una botella de sake y nos la llevaron a la mitad pensando que no nos daríamos cuenta, obvio nos dimos cuenta y después nos llevaron la nueva y cerrada. Después pedí un wagyu A5 el cual no era! Lo venden a 3,400 pesos y ni siquiera es la calidad que te venden, no era wagyu A5!! Pedí un sashimi de hamachi y no servía, olía horrible, y lo peor es que se los regresamos y aún así nos obligaron a pagarlo cuando el pescado no servía! De plano pagamos la cuenta y nos fuimos a cenar unos tacos

El lugar increíble, aunque no todas las mesas tienen buena vista como para ver el atardecer, a menos que pagues por los nidos. La comida muy rica. Buen servicio

We had an outstanding omakase meal celebrating my friend’s birthday. Everything was perfect, food was outstanding and a very attentive staff. We’ll be back!
