The premise of the place with organic, local food is great, the price is a bit high. The service could be more attentive, the server removed plates before the food was finished.

Our reservation was 5:45. Service was very slow. we waited about 20 minutes for server to come to us. Another 15 minutes to receive our drinks. Place was not very crowded, but I guess they didn’t have enough servers. Between ordering and receiving the food was about half an hour. we had aperol spritz for drinks. It was water down and not stirred. We asked for straw so we could stir the drinks which took another 10 minutes to get it. we have been going there almost a year regularly. Yesterday was the poorest service.

Service was very slow and it took a long time to get our lunch. Three friends liked their food and one loved it.

They seemed to be a bit short staffed which made for less timely attention but the limited attention that was received was good and obviously did not feel rushed. The food was exceptional, especially the new menu item of french dip sandwich. The bread was unbelievable and the meat and cheese combination truly exquisite.

Our server was training another server but probably shouldn’t have been because he didn’t know what he was doing himself. The poor service really overshadowed anything else about our experience. We were celebrating a birthday and it was noted on our reservation but not acknowledged at all.

We are regular diners at True Food Kitchen and usually the food is very flavorsome. I tried the noodle dish and it was so bland and tasteless. The portions have also got smaller but the prices haven't! It's a shame because we used to love this place but not sure we would go there again. So many other choices in UTC. Although the food was disappointing our server was awesome.

Healthy and delicious food that you will want to come back for again and again. My friend and I totally enjoyed our Citrus Salmon Salad. YUM. Thanks so much for the great service and wonderful food!

Always delicious and healthy food - we loved the blue burger and ancient grain bowl with chicken. Could have skipped the charred cauliflower. Service was friendly and excellent.

Lauren our server was great and food was delicious. However, some of my favorites are gone like the chopped salad and Korean noodle bowl . And I will never forgive you for getting rid of the sliced turkey and provolone wrap .

The restaurant is great with excellent vegetarian and vegan food options and friendly, knowledgeable servers. However, the noise level is incredible high and guests have to raise their voices in conversations. Our decibel meter on the iPhone showed dangerously high levels above 90 decibels for long periods of time! These levels are probably damaging to guests and servers who are exposed to the noise all day. Please audit your restaurants noise level to protect the health of your employees and guests.

It took us nearly an hour to receive our food. The avocado toast was burnt. The server was not apologetic for the wait or the burnt food. This was not our typical True Food experience.

I have ordered the ancient grains bowl more than 40 times. I decided to try something else and got the squash entrée. Although it was tasty, the portion size was minuscule, and I left feeling as hungry as when I arrived. It was not filling, and I definitely would never order it again.

The idea of Whole Foods with an Asian American style is good but the food is bland and it is cafeteria like ambiance. They really don’t need servers if the atmosphere they are going for is metal chairs and paper napkins.

tomato soup was wonderful. wish I could have the recipe! Entree were very good. Ambiance was very noisy. I would go back but hopefully to sit on the side where it may be a bit quieter so one can talk.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere - was busier than I'd ever seen it for lunch! Value for money is where this place falls short a bit - big price tags, small/medium-sized portions.

We usually go to the one in Fashion Valley but we thought we'd try this one since we had tickets for a basketball game at UCSD. It was VERY difficult to locate in the mall as it's not listed on the directory. We of course were at the opposite end but thank goodness I called the restaurant. Once we arrived, we got our table right away and the sweetest young man, Hugo, served us. I asked for a small glass of water, with lemon and no ice. He brought me a regular-sized glass 1/2 full which was perfect [I hate wasting water] and it was the right temperature. We ordered, and soon thereafter got our delicious meal. We asked that our Decaf Hazelnut Mochas come with the meal. He brought them after the meal was delivered which was great because it stays hotter longer through the meal. I had the salmon entree and my husband had the pesto pasta with chicken. We were very satisfied. We decided to splurge and share the flourless chocolate cake. Absolute heaven. I teased Hugo that it was his fault we splurged!!!! I had a coupon for BOGO entree. We were pleased that even though my husband added chicken to his pasta, they deducted the whole thing. VERY much appreciated. It busy and noisier when we left so glad we ate early. True Food Kitchen is my favorite SD restaurant for sure. The quality of food is 5Star for sure. THANK YOU

The ancient grains bowl is very good. Great place for vegan & vegetarian options. We were celebrating a birthday and were offered a selection of desserts complementary. We chose a carrot cake served with a vegan coconut ice cream. Delicious!

This was our first time at this restaurant. We were greeted with great samples of soup. The cocktails were delicious and I loved how the calorie count was on the menu. I recently lost a bunch of weight so this enable me to make great choices with real food that was also delicious. We will definitely be back

We love dinning here. The food is always so fresh and seasonal and the wait staff are super attentive and friendly. The decor is very modern and fresh. The prices are a little high.

Our server seemed really busy so service was slow.

Ancient grains bowl is always my favorite and it was as perfectly delicious as it is every time I order it I tried the carrot cake for the first time and it was scrumptious. I highly recommend both .

Really great, fresh food. Everything was delicious, especially the edamame dumplings. It was pretty cold inside (of course it's January). Service was also excellent. We will be back!
