True Food Kitchen is a chef-driven restaurant and scratch bar that was founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, the pioneer of integrative medicine, to provide food that tastes great and is good for you. Our menu features food and drinks crafted with nutrient-dense ingredients and carefully sourced proteins from the world’s most responsible and sustainable growers, farmers and producers. poor service Appetizer was brought at the same time as the main courses! Not very exciting space, it looks like a cafeteria.

The server and the manager was outstanding. Very attentive and accomomodating. But unlile previous times I visited here the food on this night was off. I got the steak Cobb salad - a $24 dollar splurge. The meat came out ice cold and nearly raw. They were kind enough to remake it. But the second time it came out, I had to pick off the corn because it tasted like it had gone bad. I let the server know. But did not want to send the food back for a second time. Sadly, I would not choose this restaurant again. It's just too expensive for a bad meal. But I did like the staff.

This was our first time here after hearing good things and I am not sure we would come back to dinner. Maybe lunch or take out. The food was really good and the only reason we would come back but the service was so bad and wait times were very long. We had to call our baby sitter and ask her to extend because the service was so slow. It really changed our experience but the food did bail the meal out. One of the hosts came by and said there was a hiccup in the kitchen but whatever was happening it was not good. And the restaurant was not that busy. It just seemed super unorganized and everything took a long time, the service staff was never around even for simple things like water refills. That said, the food was really good, which is what I had heard, but the front of the house did not live up to expectations and we may not come back. Sorry, we really wanted to like it. We would suggest it to a friend with caveats.

What we really appreciate is the consistency. The superb trout meal that I had in Naples, Florida, is the same quality trout meal that I had in Reston. Same for the charred cauliflower appetizer. The gluten-free choices are awesome. We will be regulars here and will never pass a chance to dine at any True Food Kitchen facility.

Our waiter was very helpful. The restaurant was ridiculously noisy--they were playing some insufferable, pounding drum noises. I asked {actually insisted) that the waiter get the manager to stop it. He actually did (and so earned a generous tip). He was a young man and so it must have taken some nerve to face down the manager. Now the food. I liked my dish quite a bit. My wife a little less so and the people at the next table were pretty negative about their meals. Not nearly the best meals we've had in True Foods.

I really truly wanted to write a good review for this restaurant, but my Mother’s Day experience with my family was so disappointing. I had to share it. Obviously the kitchen was overwhelmed, but the team needs more training to manage high volume events and set customers expectations
