I've been a TF fan for years but today, Mother's Day, was a bad experience. We had a 1pm reservation, but based on the data from pics, we didn't get our food until about 1:50. When 2/3 of our entrees came, they were tepid at best. About 10 minutes later, the 3rd entree arrived (also tepid). However, this is not why I gave a poor review. My rating is based on the fact that I saw our order (2/3 of it anyway) sitting out for 7 to 10 minutes while at least 3 staff members (not obvious servers in aprons & tshirts) approached the service area TWICE, leaving empty-handed each time. Our server was taking other orders but i didn't understand why our food had to sit until she was free. I was so hangry that I was tempted to go get it myself. When they finally brought the food I had to send my Mom's food, grilled salmon, back. When the replacement came it was hot, but the meal was already a downer between waiting so long just to be served tepid food . The only savings grace was dessert because the flourless chocolate cake is always a winner.

Dined late night so only a few other diners. Had the place to ourselves. The food as with the other True Food restaurant in Santa Monica I’ve eaten at was excellent. All 3 of our dishes from the salmon to Mothers Meat Loaf and Teriyaki Bowl were superb. Our server was attentive even though I’m sure she had closing duties to attend to. So nice to have a healthy meal in the midst of all the fried and unhealthy meals this week!

Portions smaller, prices higher, drinks very expensive. Not sure we’ll go back.

We had several courses, tomato soup, kale salad, steak, cauliflower starter, and gluten-free lasagna. Every dish was delicious. They interpreted the food differently and nicely. The staff was friendly, ambiance was cozy, well-furnished, with a high ceiling. My husband and I liked it a lot.

Food is always on point but options are more limited later in the evening because everything is made fresh. In our most recent visit, the Mac & Cheese and Burger came out cold and when we requested it to be fresh, they just put the food under a heater and brought it back telling us to be careful because the plate was hot. It was the same plate of food just heated up. The server had no problem when we said we didn’t want it and requested it to be taken off the bill. Still a positive experience but one person didn’t get to eat. Will go back but earlier instead of an hour before closing.

Great food! Everything was fresh. Service was a little slow, but still great. Glad we opted to try True Kitchen.

Alas a lot of things were out of stock, but we really liked the food. It’s just we had to skip some items and make some alternate choices

We have eaten several times at True Food in Chicago. The food there was always fresh and flavorful. The items at TFK in NOLA were disappointing. Things came late and were not warm. The flavors were tepid--salt was too low in one item, for example. Very little seasoning in most things. Disappointing.
