True Food Kitchen is a chef-driven restaurant and scratch bar that was founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, the pioneer of integrative medicine, to provide food that tastes great and is good for you. Good and varied food choices! Good service. A real favorite for its many veggie and non meat offerings. My go to place. A gem in Chicago on the near north side!

It was fine, not amazing. I like that the food is healthier than most other restaurants; but it's not perfect - the salmon is farmed, not wild, for example.

We have dined twice at Tru Food Kitchen in Tucson. Both times the food was good but the service sub par. The same could be said for Chicago’s Erie Street location. The food is good, not excellent, but good. However we found the service annoying yet again. Unlike the Tucson location when the wait staff often forgot we were there, today we were rushed to order. And then more rush, rush, rush. No water was brought to the table though it was quite warm in Chicago today. We had to ask. The appetizer plates were whisked away the instant they were empty though the appetizers weren’t completely eaten. My husband was still eating his main course and the waiter already asked what we wanted for dessert. That happened in Tucson too. The chain has a 90 minute dining time- even on Mother’s Day - and the wait staff must be penalized if they go over it. For a bill of $230 they could have taken a bit more time. Unimpressed with the waiter overall too. Not sure I will return. Washrooms not maintained either. .

Very welcoming and pleasant staff. Food was very good, but a limited menu. Family was excited about the blueberry pancakes, but there was only a gluten free (rice flour) option. It was OK.

Amazing healthy food! Great for allergies and organic options. Even organic and sustainable wines!! Outdoor patio too! Highly recommend.

Shortage of staff. Long waits for service. Homeless person disturbing us outside diners need to be dealt with by restaurant staffers. Small portions of food need to be price appropriate. Food temperature was moderate to cold.

Very well prepared, creative menu with fresh, clean, healthy ingredients. Nice selection of wines by the glass. Very easy to find options to satisfy dietary restrictions. Friendly, helpful service and an open ambiance
