The food is great...but the star here is the incredible wine list and the incredibly knowledgeable sommelier! Very special wines that I never see on a wine list usually, quite a find.

Excellent dining experience. Was fairly quiet for a Friday night. Has to be a top 5 wine list in terms of quality & value in New England although can't say I've seen a better one. Owner/Sommelier gave a great recommendation. We can't wait to go back

It was very pleasant and the service was just right. I was disappointed in the lack of choices on the menu. It was mostly steaks and pasta. Not much French food.

Thank you very much for visiting us! We are a modern American fine dining restaurant, which means we borrow from the best cuisines of the world, including Spain, Japan, and France. We do employ a lot of French technique (and butter!) in our cooking style, and our wine book leans heavily on the French wineries. I'm curious which menu you are reviewing? In the evening, our bar menu has French Onion Soup, Bluefish Pate, two crudos, and duck confit pizza. Our dining room menu has Ricotta, Halibut, Prawn, and Truffled Gnocchi. I'd love to invite you to revisit us with these options in mind. Cheers!

As a self-proclaimed foodie, this was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. An absolute hidden gem. It almost made me sad that it wasn’t at max capacity on a Friday night. The most amazing staff, food was beyond exceptional - literally down to the bread and butter that I’ll be craving until I go back. Already trying to figure out who to bring over there next.

The evening started off well, we did the tasting menu. Food and waitress was good for first few courses then it started to go south as we got towards the end. For what we spent on the wine and food pairing I would have expected exceptional service all the way till we left, that was not the case. It seemed like once they had your money they no longer needed to perform well. Unfortunately will not be returning.

Troquet is spectacular. The food is simply perfect. Every time. The date cake for dessert was unusual and delicious. Our server was on top of everything with excellent recommendations. Troquet has been one of our favorite places for many years. It has never wavered from excellent food, wine and service.

I have been consistently pleased with my experience at Troquet on South Street. The staff are always gracious and engaged. This includes the waiters, the bar tender and the receptionist. Last night, a group of 4 of us had a celebratory dinner there. Two of the people remarked "why didn't I know about this place" after having a great time in this special restaurant.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant. From the opening glass of champagne, to the out-of-this world hot buttered buns..and they scooped the butter out of a barrel! Service was superb. My companion had a pasta dish which was good, altho a bit skimpy on the portion. I had the duck which was very good..a bit dry for duck and might have used a bit more of the tangy sauce. I would not bother with the potatoes tho. Desserts were great, and so was the atmosphere. Definitely not a cheap date, but a very nice extravagant evening.

The restaurant has a pretty loud atmosphere, which can be a bit overwhelming, especially because the sound doesn't carry well in the space. When it comes to the service, it's just alright – nothing really stands out. The same goes for the food; it's average and doesn't leave a lasting impression. It feels like both the service and the food could use some improvements to really make the dining experience something special.

The mushroom risotto is fresh and flavorful. All three of us loved it. The lamb was perfectly prepared (medium rare) and the salad and pita that accompany are light, flavorful and perfectly seasoned. My friends had the steaks and enjoyed them immensely. The service was impeccable (thank you Andy) and the sommelier impressed with his stellar bottle recommendations.

Thanks for an incredible evening. It was the perfect spot to celebrate my birthday. Tsega was an outstanding server. She did a great job pacing our meal & knows the menu inside & out. Thanks to owner Chris for his great Burgundy recommendation. Their wine list is one of the largest & best curated in Boston. Definitely don't miss out on the duck! Looking forward to returning soon.

Food was exquisitely prepared and beautiful to look at. Service was extremely attentive and friendly. Loved the French butter scooped from a bucket served with warm, sweetish rolls. Charming surroundings with the biggest mirror short I've ever seen besides ones in a ballet studio. A few free visitor parking spots across the street are a plus. A little on the pricey side, but less pricey than some other Boston restaurants!
