Trivet derives from the age-old cooking utensil - an iron tripod placed over fire to support a cooking pot or kettle - reflecting the warmth and balance which forms Head Chef Jonny Lake and Master Sommelier Isa Bal’s values for the restaurant, as well as their working relationship.

From the very beginning of the creative process, Jonny, Isa and the team think about how food and drink work together. The menu features their explorations of ingredients, dishes and drinks from around the world, inspired by the culinary history and diversity around us. The wine list is set out chronologically, following the historic beginnings of wine to present day, with over 350 wines from classic producers to the New World, as well as acknowledging the root of viti-vinoculture with wines from Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.

As well as the welcoming main dining room, Trivet has a terrace, wine bar and private dining space. Monday nights transform into the LaBombe Wine Bar.

For events in house, Trivet offers tailored set menus for formal and casual seated dining, standing snacks and canapés, paired dinners for wine events and special in-house events such as chef collaborations and Canadian Thanksgiving! Jonny, Isa and the team can also offer off-site catering upon request.

Trivet can offer a variety of event experiences, for up to 30 guests seated in the private dining room (the 'Mustard Room'), or around 50 guests seated in the main dining space as a whole venue hire. The whole restaurant, with bar and terrace included, is a flexible and dynamic space, ready for meetings, tastings, celebrations and more.

Mondays at Labombe Wine Bar

We are now open for a very different Trivet experience, fully realising our Wine Bar potential on the most (we think unfairly) moaned-about day of the week! We would love to welcome you on Mondays from 5pm-11pm for drinks, with a special menu available to order between 5pm and 9.30pm, to help you ease into the working week (or enjoy your day off if you’re a fellow hospitality worker). The full Trivet wine list will of course be available to explore, as will our cocktails and other drink options, including some incredible wines by the glass. Online bookings can be made for parties of up to 6 guests. Amazing food, perfectly balanced, starter and main both had amazing deep, umami rich sauces. Great pairing suggestions from the sommelier and friendly, attentive service. I was dining alone, and felt very well looked after.

It was just ok. We are big fans of the “wine bar” with small plates concepts but this did not feel well executed. The menu did not seem well thought out for the bar seating, the wine by the glass menu seemed quite limited and we were not offered the look into the bigger wine book as other tables. I would not recommend going here if you’re looking for a casual dinner as the ambiance is quite stuffy and you don’t feel comfortable in the seating of the bar to eat. This was not for us but I can see this being popular if you just want some small (acceptable) plates in a quiet place, which I admit is difficult to find in the area. Food itself is not competitive nor special for the area.

OMG - fine dining on another level. We had tickets for the theatre but the experience was so great we didn’t make the performance

We had a fantastic meal at Trivet. Dinner for two, a birthday celebration. Sophisticated, elegant but relaxed environment with excellent service. The waiting team were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Appreciated little extra touches and treats, including a signed birthday card (which we sadly forgot!). A meal that will live long in our memories.

Made a reservation for my birthday and got to enjoy some great food and wine. They have an amazing list and also do taster evenings. Atmosphere feels much more personable than other Michelin restaurants. They also gifted me a birthday card signed by all of the Trivet team. Highly recommend the turbot main. I will return to sample those desserts and more of the wines.
