They need to tone down their music and also play Italian not dance mix. The food was very good. Next time we will sit outside.

Our first-time dining here and we loved it. The service was excellent, impeccable, and spot on. Both our meals were delicious with good sized portions. I highly recommend this restaurant. Will certainly be back with friends.

Lovely experience for four of us. Francesco was our server and he went out of his way to accomodate us. Cesare salad, Lasagne Special, Bolognesa and Chocolate Cake. Nero d’Avola-Stemmari and White Blend-Conundrum. Cheers! Great to have you in the neighborhood.

The food was very good, and all three of us enjoyed our entrees. But the noise level was awful. There is nothing to absorb sound, and the background music (vocals?? Seriously) was far too loud. We all had to speak very loudly to understand each other. Our waiter was attentive, and though we said we wanted to enjoy our cocktails, the food came too quickly. Later, I wanted to order a glass of wine, and despite three waiters in the dining room, I had to raise my hand to get someone's attention. This may be the growing pains of a new establishment, but the ambiance and noise level mean we're not likely to return. Sitting in the outdoor patio might have been a better choice.

We had an early reservation and wanted to like the restaurant because we loved Cucina Sorella. We were seated and seemed like the wait staff did not communicate with the kitchen staff...we were not given the complimentary bread and marina and when we asked our waiter he was so clueless that he said he would bring us more, where we stated - no, not more, we would like bread we did not receive any. When our appetizer arrived the kitchen staff attempted to take our menus when we hadn't ordered our main meal and was surprised when let him know that. The food and drinks were okay, there was nothing that stood out. It is billed as a family restaurant so it does get very loud and the tables are tight as it gets busier around dinner time.

We were excited to try a new local establishment. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. Minestrone soup was mushy and bland, service was poor, and ambiance felt more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Hopefully it's just growing pains and, with time, they will be able to up their game. We would love to support a great new restaurant here in Kensington!

What a gem! This place has the best Italian food in town. The Risotto ai Funghi was creamy, rich, and just explodes with flavor. I also loved their Tiramisu—it was the perfect end to our meal. Can’t wait to come back!

Stopped by Trattoria da Sofia last week and was impressed with their service and menu. The Arancini appetizers were delicious, crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. This place is a must-visit for Italian cuisine lovers.

Love this place! The atmosphere is fantastic, perfect for catching up with friends or a quiet dinner. I highly recommend the Arancine; it was light, crispy, and not greasy at all. Everything we ordered was delicious!

Just had dinner at Trattoria da Sofia and it was fantastic! The food was flavorful, fresh, and authentically Italian. I can't recommend the "Filetto ai funghi" enough, it was perfectly cooked. This is definitely one of the best Italian spots in town!"

This restaurant is a real treat! The Margherita flatbread had a perfectly crispy crust and fresh toppings. Great for a casual dinner with friends. The staff is also very attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely be returning!

Dinner at Trattoria da Sofia was a delightful experience! The atmosphere is cozy, making it a perfect spot for a date night. We tried the Pollo alla Parmigiana and it was heavenly. The chicken was tender and the sauce was just the right mix of tangy and sweet. Highly recommend!

I’ve been to Trattoria da Sofia multiple times now, and it never disappoints. The staff is always welcoming, and the food is consistently great. The Spaghetti Carbonara is a must try!!! so creamy and comforting!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Trattoria da Sofia and it was an unforgettable evening. The ambiance was romantic, the food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. We loved the Caprese di Bufala and the Gnocchi al Pesto. Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for authentic Italian food, look no further than Trattoria da Sofia! Their Pappardelle al Ragù Bolognese is to die for, and their wine selection complements the meal perfectly. It’s my new go-to spot for Italian!

Great addition to Kensington! Sofia’s cocktails were excellent, the Limoncello spritzer was great & packed a punch. The Carbonara was delicious and Butternut squash Risotto sublime. We will be back!

A new Italian restaurant in Kensington. Great menu, reasonably priced with some offerings that you don’t see at other places. Pasta was good, seemed fresh. Full bar and wine by the glass or bottle. Great, friendly wait staff - many appear to be Italian. The interior has undergone an extensive renovation with outdoor seating available, little too chilly last night. Looking foward to our next visit

The “background” music was too loud for guests to hear each talk across the table. We did ask for the music volume to be lowered but never noticed if that was gone. We did need to ask for items more than once. We all enjoyed the food and felt the quantity was good.

This was our 2nd time going to Sofia for dinner. I had requested a table outside if heaters were working since we had invited my parents and I knew it would be hard for them to hear at the inside table due to noise level. The food at Sofia is very good! The servers and bartender are excellent! The decor is tacky and does not go with the quality of food and beverages. Fake flowers are really not a good look but that’s just my opinion. You have to do what’s right for you and your budget. 😉

Amazing dinner at Trattoria da Sofia last night! The 'Pollo alla Parmigiana' was absolutely delicious: crispy, cheesy, and just divine. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The cozy setting made our evening very special. Highly recommend!

Love this place! Every time I visit Trattoria da Sofia, I try something new, and it never disappoints. Last time, the 'Tiramisu' was to die for, so airy and perfectly sweet. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. This restaurant is a favorite!

A welcome addition to the neighborhood! Service was outstanding (plentifull and very attending) and food was very good. The Involtini di melanzane was delicious as was the Barbabietola "beet" salad. Sugo Pittinicchi was a very good entree as well. Very simiiar to my Sicilian grandmothers...the sausage and pork rib were buttery soft from marinating for hours in the sauce. Only the arancine were a bit disappointing...flavor was great, but the breadcrumb exterior was soggy versus dry and crunchy like in Sicily. Restaurant was noisy and crowded which added a fun energy to the room. We will definitely be back...

I wanted to like Trattoria Da Sofia because it’s in the neighborhood. The sauce brought with the bread was marinara but cold. I would suggest warming it. It’s a great flavor but not cold. The Caprese Sofia was great. I had one of the pasta dishes and the pasta could have been cooked about 2 more minutes. There’s a difference between al dente and non edible. The flavors were good but cook it just a bit more. Short rib was the best item we had.

I've been to many Italian restaurants, but Trattoria da Sofia truly stands out. Their Risotto Alla Zucca is a testament to that. The butternut squash was cooked to perfection, and the pecorino fondue added a richness that was just unparalleled. I opted for their house red, which complemented the dish beautifully. The cozy decor and the warmth of the staff added to the overall excellence. This dish alone is worth a repeat visit!

Had a date night at Trattoria da Sofia and decided to try the Funghi Ripieni. OMG, it was divine! The mushrooms were so juicy, and the filling was this perfect mix of crab and cheese that I couldn't get enough of. We had a white wine with it that the waiter recommended. The place has such a cozy vibe too, and the staff treated us like family.

Trattoria da Sofia is my new go-to spot, thanks to their Sugo Pittinicchi. The pork ribs and sausage were cooked to perfection, and the tagliatelle was the ideal pasta for that rich, tomatoey sauce. Had it with a Chianti, which was just the right touch. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, making the whole dining experience feel like a mini vacation to Italy. Great wait staff. Had trouble with one of our diners who was gluten free but resolved it..well. We'll be back. Don't know if anything can be done about the noise level? Thanks, the ravioli was incredible
