Burma (modernized name - Myanmar) is a Southeast Asian country about the size of Texas, tucked between India and China, is a home to various ethnic tribes, a melting pot of beautiful cultures. When it comes to taste-buds tingling cuisines, Burma has a lot to offer. It has been a passionate dream for Burma-born owners Kalvin and Poe to open a Burmese restaurant to be able to share their culinary culture. That dream came true in 2019 when Top Burmese opened as a virtual takeout only restaurant from a commissary kitchen in NW Portland. Due to its authenticity, made to order, home-style cooking, and Burmese hospitality, Top Burmese traditional and modern Burmese dishes became so popular effectively evangelizing the masses to become Burmese Food fans. Today Top Burmese serves its amazing dishes via various Burma themed restaurants. *** Top Burmese was named in Oregonian Best New Restaurants, Forbes, Willamette Week Top Eats, and various must eat lists including EATER Portland. ***

After having a good experience once before, we were disappointed with our second visit. Although service and cocktails were good, both our entrees were bland - though the potato samosas we started with were tasty. The coconut noodles were mushy and had a sweet, one-note flavor. Not pleasant. We left most of the dish uneaten. The chicken curry was also overcooked and uninteresting. The tiny dish of pickled shredded cucumber added some brightness, as did chili oil we requested, but not enough that we wanted to eat much of it. The rice was mushy and the pakora was pasty, not fluffy and crisp. Sadly, we probably won’t return.

Loved the Kitty cat robot server, great decor, really enjoyed the food, just a bit on the pricey side IMO. Each entree was easily worth $5 less than amount charged. $8 for a 5oz beer.

Delicious and varied menu. Lots of vegetarian-friendly options. Sadly the server robot was out of service, but I'll be back for the food and drinks!

They are short staffed, kept having to ask for things 2-3 times. Food was just ok compared to last few times. A bit disappointed ☹️

We really like Top Burmese because of the food, robots and ambiance but probably wouldn’t come back with a group of six or more again. The ambiance is great as usual and we really liked the food, but for the added service charge for a group of six, the service seemed very hands off. We did have some issues with food not being delivered, but were finally able to have that addressed by the staff. Be sure to check the total on your bill as I believe the gratuity is already included when you have a party of six. It led to some billing questions which I should have resolved at the restaurant, but bottom line is that when I come back it will be with a smaller party. Be sure to try the pumpkin curry, it was delicious!

Super disappointing after the great reviews I read. Found the food bland, even the items we asked to have spicy. Hostess was awesome but the rest of the staff seemed just “fine.” Expected more given the rave reviews.

Cute restaurant in an area of Beaverton that’s become a pedestrian mall with several restaurants. The wings appetizers were terrific! Ginger salad was very good. Would not get the fish rice dish again. Beef curry was good.

We went here for a work dinner with 13 people. The service was good, drinks came out quickly and the waitress was attentive to our groups demands. The food was good, on the spicy side so be ready for that. The portions are on the smaller side so make sure to get few of the same dishes if in a big group.

We took our kids for their birthday, and they were thrilled. The food was great (kids were excited that there was enough to pack for lunch the next day.) Both vegan and chicken samosas were a big hit, and I could eat the tea leaf salad every day. I can’t speak for the Shan noodles, because my son wouldn’t share a bite… so I guess that speaks for itself. The service was lovely, and the owner/manager (?) even brought some soup for the kids to try to make sure they loved what they were eating. We were too full to try dessert, so we had to promise the kids we’d be back, even if it was just for tea and dessert. This is a new family favorite.

This was such a great experience. Took my mom for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, the wait staff attentive (but not annoying), and the vibe was modern but cozy. We’ll definitely be going back.

Unfortunately, our experience at Top Burmese was unsatisfactory. I made a reservation for 6 to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The waitress was gracious and asked for our drink order and at that time we hadn't decided on our order. She did not check back on our table and ultimately we did not get served just drinks for over an hour! At that point we realized we could put our order in earlier using the QR code. When we asked the waitress about how to order the rest of the food she said we could choose either way. There was a lot of people/commotion around and a table behind us was VERY loud. It just didn't work for us. We decided not to stay and order dinner. It seems like the venue is too small for a party of more than 3 or 4.

Never had a bad experience at Top Burmese! Saturday night so it was a little busy but the service was awesome and multiple people checked on us! The food was delicious and we left with full tummies. Even our drinks were made perfectly!

Great spot for rare Burmese food and bar area especially will remind you of being in a foreign country. Lots of good specialty drinks and don’t forget, you get to watch “Ray” (the robot ) make his rounds delivering food. An experience not to miss.

Food and service always outstanding here! The Tea Leaf Salad and GLP wings are 2 of my favorite dishes, but honestly, everything on the menu is amazing!

Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and service! So unique, and a wonderful taste of another culture. Great to have so many vegan options to choose from, and the robotic servers were so fun too. We will back!

A beautiful setting in a fun part of Beaverton. The food was excellent. I had the chicken curry with coconut rice. Their “Street margarita” was spicy and yummy. I love the plant filled decor, our server Soli was very nice and professional. They even surprised me with a free birthday dessert (with a sparkler!). Don’t let the robot who delivers your food to the table surprise you (not kidding!).

One of my very favorite places to go with friends...for the food and the ambience and service. My friends ordered the Samosa Soup and the vegan Okra Curry. Both said they were very good and finished everything. I usually order the Pumpkin Curry which is always delicious, but this time I ordered the Shan Noodles with tofu and vegies. It was very good, but just a bit too sweet. I would order again if the sauce could be made less sweet. The tofu was heavenly. One request that I've had for some time would be for a vegan Mango Lassi. There are lots of coconut yogurts out there that would make it easy to make a mango lassi vegan. Thank you for considering!

This is my first experience with Burmese food and it was the most delicious meal I’ve had in quite sometime. The flavors everything about it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
