One of the two top bar seating for full dinner and a great cocktail experience in the upper East side. Danny does a great job managing and the staff is smart and remembers patterns and makes it feel like a community.

As usual really good food service and setting. Only slight quibble is that a bit more variety on the menu would be nice. The choices have not really changed in quite some time.

Great food just wish the menu explained the tacos only have two per order. $18 for two tacos is crazy. Would have changed. Our Oder if known. Enchiladas were perfection and salsa very unique 4/5.

We were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. Bartenders Perla and Rafael were excellent. Anticipated our needs and delivered. The hot food was hot and the cold food cold and all beautifully prepared and presented. Vanessa made a point of checking on us and spending making us feel appreciated and welcomed. Thanks for a great evening. We have booked a return next week.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We eat a lot of Mexican food and this is the best we have ever eaten. We had the Guacamole, chicken tacos and churros. The ingredients were very fresh. My white wine sangria was the best great 😊

We were rushed from our table after we ordered after dinner wine. They cancelled our glasses of wine and told us they needed our table after spending $300. On dinner.

We dined in the outdoor seating area. It was relatively quiet unlike the indoor space which was deafening. The food and service is superb, but it is pricy.

Best Mexican spot i’ve found. The queso fundido is 10/10, as is the guac. Fresh tasting ingredients in all of the food, and the shrimp entree was phenomenal!

Food quality for the price doesn't match. The food was good but if you're looking for Mexican food - a taqueria would be a better fit. Perhaps my own opinion - but Mexican food is supposed to be comfort food - not meant to be swanky, upscale dishes..... again, my opinion. Keep in mind, I moved to NYC a couple years ago from California where I was spoiled by really good Mexican food - so yes, I'm biased for sure - thus far, I've tried at least 10 different Mexican food restaurants in NYC and still nothing compares. What ever happened to Pinto Beans and/or Refried Beans? Do they not exist in NYC? Only Black Beans? Really? All-in-all - the restaurant was "good" - the ambiance was amazing - the service was above and beyond - but for me, the food doesn't do it for me - but again, I'm very specific on my "mexican food".

Rushed from the start and told we had 90 min. That rubbed me the wrong way from the start. However, the food was delicious and the servers in between were very courteous and polite. Prices justified us staying 2 hrs and there were open tables, as well as crazy loud parties. Don’t rush me if I am dropping money on food and drinks the entire time.

Toloache never disappoints. The staff are so professional and the food and beverages are alway excellent. Often the noise level Is high but we lucked out and our group could converse without much interference.

Was visiting the neighborhood and had a craving for Mexican food. But this wasn’t a typical taqueria by any means. The food here was authentic, upscale, and exceptional. I don’t normally risk eating foods I’m not familiar with, but instinctively I knew I could trust this place to deliver, and they surely did. And I’m not a fan of overly spicy foods. I ordered guacamole with warm fresh chips and was super happy with the taste and temperature of the spices. Really flavorful without being overly-anything except strong on the avocado. Next came CAMARONES TOLOACHE- roasted garlic shrimp, crispy tortilla, black beans, chayote salad, cascabel salsa, queso fresco, which was truly outstanding. The portion was more than ample for a lunchtime meal, so much so I did not have dinner. Cooked to perfection and each ingredient built perfectly into a solid bite. I loved the cool and crisp chayote salad that contrasted nicely with the salsa, which had more heat than I’m accustomed to, but didn’t overwhelm my tastebuds. Quiet dining room. Just enough attention from staff. We lingered after lunch to finish our cervezas and didn’t feel rushed. Highly recommend!

Toloache UES is a fabulous restaurant. My only disappointment with the food is that it seems the guacamole ($15+) is now being made in advance instead of "to order" in a molcajete (the way it used to be served). Unfortunately, as a result, the guacamole is served in a small bowl, cold and a bit mushy which lessens the authenticity of the restaurant.

Our go to place for Mexican food. Cerviches highly recommended. Personally I think they are the best Tacos in town. Been a customer for years starting from the Midtown West location and then to upper East side when we moved to the East side.
