Le Toloache-Midtown (prononcé toh-lo-AH-tchay) est un bistro mexicain contemporain appartenant au chef Julian Medina et situé au cœur du quartier des théâtres. Le Toloache est nommé d'après une plante à fleurs célèbre au Mexique pour son utilisation dans les philtres d'amour. Vous apprécierez la cuisine créative du chef Medina qui incorpore des ingrédients de saison et naturels ainsi que plus d'une douzaine de types de piments. Wow! Deze plek is fantastisch! Supervers en lekker eten. Een zeer uitgebreide kaart die het moeilijk kiezen maakt. Reserveren noodzakelijk omdat iedereen bij dit vriendelijke personeel wil eten. Het is luid, omdat er veel volk op een kleine ruimte zit, maar het eten maakt dit ruimschoots goed. Aanrader!

The staff was amazing! All such hard workers! We couldn’t believe how they were able to negotiate the restaurant without ever once getting in our way! True talent!

It was a wonderful place for dinner prior to our show. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was outstanding, we'll dine again on our next trip.

The music was really loud, really, really loud. The food and drinks were good. The water was a little iffy. This is a great place for a lively, kitschy, casual, theater district Mexican. It's not the place for amazing Mexican food in a tranquil or sophisticated atmosphere.

Great and delicious dinner, waiter Jose gave great recommendations. We were a party of 5 and did various appetizers and tacos. If you like mushrooms definitely try the huitlacoche quesadilla.

It was extremely loud, and the servers came to my table literally 12 times within the hour that I spent. Asking to take our plates, and we were still eating and chatting. It was such a turnoff to have to keep telling them we are still eating. Even when the place emptied out, they still came to ask. Haven't been that annoyed in a long time.

From start to finish, Toloache was a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly, our table was ready within a few minutes, even though we arrived early. The restaurant is beautiful, lively, noisy, but not uncomfortably so. Definitely a fun vibe. Drinks were delicious. We were not rushed. I would highly recommend.

Loved the guacamole and don’t normally like rice and beans but these were amazing. Wish I lived in NY. We even showed up early and they still seated us. Not too noisy. I hate when I have to shout at my dining companions.

The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The waitress heard me mention to my friend that it was his birthday and that he should order a dessert so she came out with candles in the dessert and sang happy birthday. How lovely!

We went to Toloache before a show, so nervous about timing, but no need. While the restaurant was packed, the staff was efficient and friendly. It's just really loud when every seat in the house is filled. So if that's not an issue, you will enjoy it immensely. The food is delicious!

Food was perfectly satisfactory, but not outstanding. The queso fundido was a little salty and the birria tacos were on the greasy side. Fish tacos were fine, but have had better in the city. Also for the price, it'd be nice if three tacos came in an order instead of just two. We appreciated them accommodating my friend's gluten allergy and the restaurant ambiance is still pleasant.

Last year when in NYC we ate at Toloache-Midtown for the first time and loved it so much that we had to eat there again on this new visit. This is NOT a Tex-Mex but truly a Mexican restaurant with outstanding food.

Had a 6pm reservation for a party of three, we were seated about 20 minutes late - this was a pre-theater crowd and the restaurant was beyond busy. Even though the wait was disappointing, once our party was seated, the service was excellent - great waitstaff, food was delicious, and we did not feel rushed.

This is our go to for lunch before Saturday matinees. Gustavo and Bartolo are the best. Margys and tacos terrific. Been going here for 15 years.

Great Mexican restaurant so close to theaters. Very pleasant experience. Service very attentive. Food was terrific. Highly recommend the ceviches and the black cod. Definetely a keeper.

Delicious food, authentic & perfectly seasoned. Loved the black cod & plantains side dish was great with plenty to share. Although it is not listed a single small portion of the traditional guacamole was available, which made me very happy.

Always great food and service. Tacos, guacamole frutas, veggie enchiladas, casso fondito, rice and beans, Cesar salad are all excellent. If you have trouble getting a pre-theater reservation, go after 7 or on Sunday and Monday.
