What a disappointment! Don’t mind if cocktails are expensive but alcohol was so diluted & barely tested the sake or plum but more like drinking a cranberry juice and portion was so small. You guys can do better! Clearly staff are skimming on the alcohol! Beautiful high end sound system but was so loud that felt like it was a club & not a Japanese speakeasy bar. The woman who escorted us was so rude and unfriendly. Wonder if we were white we would be treated different!? She should not be in this business. So much potential for an awesome bar but a real letdown!

Hubo muchos detalles para toda la expectativa creada por las redes sociales. 1. La música era muy alta, tuve que cambiarme de lugar, escuchaba la vibración de la bocina más que la plática con mi acompañante. 2. Te dan la bienvenida, comentando que no hay disponibles ciertos tragos. 3. La cerveza estaba caliente. Tuve que pedir me la resguardaran para enfriarla. 4. No había comida, la única opción no la tenían. 5. El chico que me parece era el jefe de barra, se la pasó gritando todas sus requisiciones a los barmans toda la noche; nada agradable escucharlo gritar todo el tiempo.

This whole bar is a great vibe. Great cocktails. We have a great time. Sat at the bar watched the bartenders work their magic. They also have great beer. DJ was great. Around 10-10:30 the beats and volume picked up. Really stellar experience.

The experience was poor. Drinks were a fraction of what other higher end bars serve for the same price. Was sat in a small table for a table for 3. Made us wait even though we had a reservation although the bar was empty. Sat us near a bathroom meanwhile there were many spots available. I would avoid this. There are better places in the area.

Meh, tragos muy básicos y muy caros. Las descripciones los hacen ver muy atractivos pero no. Por el precio no lo valen en absoluto. No es un lugar al que regresaría ni recomendaría.

One of the best bars in Mexico City, great atmosphere and amazing cocktails. Definitely a must go when you visit Mexico City.

Lugar coqueto para tomar un par de drinks antes o después de cenar. 260 pesos cada uno. Me pareció caro porque son muy pequeños, aunque estaban deli. Buena música y ambiente. De comer sólo tienen tostadas: no las coman, 135 pesos y son microscópicas. Un robo.

Muy buen ambiente, muy hygge y con música excelente. Muy parecido a varios bares de Londres y Paris. En general el servicio fue regular, me imagino que poca motivación por trabajar en domingo. Un aspecto negativo es que mencionan que cierran a las 12am y desde las 10:30pm ya te traen la cuenta y 11:15 ya empiezan a levantar sillas y casi casi correr a la gente. Como recomendación, cambiar el horario de cierre para que refleje la realidad.

Padrisimo el lugar! Tipo speakeasy, así que haz tu reservación antes de ir. Los drinks están como a 260 pesos, casi igual precio que en USA. Fui con una amiga y la musica no estaba tan fuerte, perfecto para platicar. Lo recomendaría para una cita! 100% regresaría, uno de mis bares favoritos.

I book a reservation weeks in advance. We got there 10 min before our reservation and the host let us know that they actually had a private party book so we got turned away . The host offered us to go next door to this STANDING BAR with no seating, they also didn’t have a cocktail menu only Japanese whiskey. So I basically waited money Ubering from La Roma to get turned away, then to stand in the rain to waist more money on a Lyft. Complete bummer! There are plenty of awesome vinyl bars in CDMX.. skip this one

El Tokyo Music Bar, un diamante en bruto de Ciudad de México, es el tipo de lugar que te transporta a otro mundo. Con su entrada poco ostentosa y su ambiente oscuro lleno de simbología japonesa, este bar te sumerge en una atmosfera exquisitamente íntima. La calidad salta a la vista desde el primer vistazo: servilletas grabadas con diseños ingeniosos, mobiliario de alto nivel y cristalería sofisticada. La carta de cocteles, aunque limitada, brilla con mezclas de ingredientes de alta gama. La joya entre estos es el cóctel de ginebra y coco, cuyo nombre inusual solo añade a su encanto. Lo que realmente distingue a este bar es su oferta de música. El DJ hace maravillas con su colección de vinilos, mezclando géneros en un sistema McIntosh de alta fidelidad, creando una sinfonía sonora que es un deleite para los oídos. Pero la experiencia no estuvo exenta de sus contratiempos. El servicio mostró altibajos, con una recepcionista que parecía estar en desacuerdo con la definición de amabilidad. A pesar de las brechas en la atención, los meseros compensaron con su diligencia. En general, Tokyo Music Bar es un refugio para aquellos que buscan una noche de buena música, cócteles excepcionales y un ambiente único. Una visita bien vale la pena, ya sea para una cita romántica o una salida con amigos que buscan algo diferente. Asegúrate de llegar puntualmente a tu reserva para evitar cualquier inconveniente.

Excellent drinks, ambience, and staff. Music was on point and didn’t skip a beat- but I do wish this was more of a dance scene. If you’re looking for a good drink before going out, this is the place.

Awesome experience! Loved the ambiance and the DJ was great, old school feel spinning vinyl records. If you’re a music lover this is our oasis! Loved the unique cocktails as well.

The place mostly feels like somebody tried to copy somebody else's concept. It probably works for plenty of people, but not in the drinks, atmosphere, service, or selection of music was there any sense of passion, purpose, or dedication.

Overall great experience inside Tokyo bar however the host who greeted us outside was extremely unprofessional. Ironically my friends who had a separate reservation on a different date had the same experience. When we arrived, I said that we had a reservation, the host looked at me and basically responded by telling me no, I didn't. I proceeded to share my confirmation email from Open Table and when she saw that I had proof she just smiled and proceeded to direct us inside as if we were being an inconvenience to her. It was almost as if she were expecting some type of monetary compensation in order for us to get inside. If a bar like this has respected accolades of being in the top 100 I would hope they would value providing quality services both inside and outside the bar. Although we were treated well inside, I think it is important for folks to understand that yo will not be greeted in a hospitable manner.
