Unfortunately due to construction going on in the restaurant my visual view of the ocean was blocked my scaffolding around all windows in the restaurant . I found this extremely disappointing and very upsetting.

Over priced, mostly ala carte. No salad, no bread.. Bread cost $12.00 Food was Luke warm. Not sure about going back.

Everything was wonderful. Near the end of our meal, a party with a group of kids were sat behind us and they were loud and obnoxious.

We were able to make a reservation for this restaurant for a time period in which it was closed. Very embarrassing for a business lunch. Will not return.

Beautiful view of sunset with terrific host and tasty food! Definitely would come back. Besides dinner, breakfast was awesome as well!

This wasn’t a very good experience. Our server seemed to be in a bad mood & rolled his eyes several times. We noticed them telling the hostess that he was getting too many tables. It was very hot in the restaurant and we began to sweat. The food was fresh—Halibut was a good size, yet the cook did not drain the mushrooms and the entree was very watery. We never saw a manager & didn’t want to bother our busy server. I’m sure this is a good restaurant, but seems like a hit or miss. We unfortunately visited on a miss.

We had an amazing Mother Day Brunch! They gave us a wonderful VIP service and June is always a great server and extremely helpful! I highly recommend this place!

The view was beautiful, the service was prompt and friendly. But the food was just so-so, and was very expensive for what it was. Two out of the three of us dining did not like the meal. The steak and the oysters were good.

We had a beautiful view of the ocean. Started off with a cocktail which was delicious. We ordered their crabcakes which I'm usually hesitant to order because most places the crabcakes are mostly filler with a bit of crab. We ordered their clam chowder which was full of clams instead of full of potatoes. Our waiter, Dennis, was attentive and personable!

Dennis, our server, was phenomenal. We had a wait on our reservation on Thanksgiving. But he more than made up for it with his exemplary service and kind heartedness.

This was our second Thanksgiving dinner here, but never ever again! $70 pp plus $20 to open a bottle of wine... this place to keep it tactful was nasty, the best part of the experience was the view of the ocean and sunset. First off, we were surrounded by three other tables, all were served water and our server chose to leave us dehydrated and not only did he not ask us if we wanted water, he didn't bother just bringing any either. Then we got our appetizers, I got Butternut Squash Bisque and my wife got the beet salad. My Bisque was barely luke warm, so I sent it back to get it heated. Now you'd think if I sent cold soup back, that the next course would be hot right? Nope, both my and my wife's entrées came to the table cold too... The food was dang-near inedible, nothing was made fresh from scratch. The turkey was processed, the dressing came from a box, the cranberry sauce came from a can, the sweet potato was hard and not only was the mash potatoes cold, everything was cold. The chocolate torte wasn't even made by the kitchen, it was way too sweet and rich. My wife ate about half of her bland Panna Cotta and couldn't finish that either... I'm sorry whoever is in charge of this kitchen needs to be fired. I know, this is scathing and harsh review of this experience but it's meant to be... when you pay $186 in total for dinner and get a product this horrible, people should be warned, this is not the place for a holiday style dinner; and nothing else for that matter. When we left we boxed the leftovers but ended up leaving it downstairs on a table next to the bar; we decided we didn't want it and our dog probably wouldn't want it either. Dine here at your own risk, you've been warned.

Seemed short on staff the night we were there, although he was hustling with several tables. Food came out pretty quick some of it overcooked but for the most part very good and delicious. Meal was good we did get stuck in the elevator for a few minutes then finally it started to work again!

If you arrive when it opens, then you'll have an open view of Monterey and the ocean. Otherwise, you have to decide what side of the barrier you will lean to see the views. It seems like the service was selective with their customers.

The prices are high and the food is mediocre at best. Yes, it has a nice view of the ocean , but so do many places in Monterey, Carmel and Pacific Grove. This place should be skipped.

We had reservations but were seated in the back near the kitchen which was not great given additional and clearly available options but the folks I was with were use to this treatment so we sat, the server was cool and we enjoyed lite fare, soup - clam chowder- a little too thick but full of clams, bread and a glass of wine. Good space for conversation. I’ve eaten lunch here in the past and the experience was better.

Terrible! Our mains came out an hour late. My partner ordered the market fish and it came out raw in the middle. The waiter said the wait was because of the fish but that’s a load of garbage. If you can’t cook a whole fish, don’t put it on your menu. My partner ended up giving it back to them and having In N Out because he didn’t want to wait another hour for food. The waiter didn’t apologise or acknowledge their poor service. View was great but it was a massive let down.

I selected this place for a nice birthday dinner treat for myself. The restaurant is overpriced for the value received. I paid over $90 for one piece of salmon (that had the taste of farmed vs wild) with no sides, a wedge salad with 1/2 tomato, and a glass of wine. The food was disappointing. The service was average, not good, and not bad. I did observe other servers checking in with their table guests. As a solo diner I didn't have a lot of requests; however, it would have been nice to have had more contact.

I was looking for a quiet and romantic place to take my date . Upon arriving we went to the 1st floor where the bar is . Got some wine and sat by the huge Windows that looked over the entire bay, beautiful views and very quite . Went to dinner and got a great window seat . All the seats have a great view . The service was excellent our server Dennis was on it. The food was very good. I would highly recommend Tides . My date said that she wants to come back!

They overcooked our filets, and the clam chowder was so bland it tasted like just cream and flour! My husbands filet was supposed to come with prawns. It came out with 2 tiny shrimp. It was way over priced but that’s to be expected in the area. But for what we paid, you’d expect the food to be much better. Great view of the ocean, though and the service was good. Unfortunately food was a disappointment.

The food was okay, it did overall need more seasoning because it was rather bland. And the service was just inexcusable, the waiter assumed that me and my family couldn’t afford certain things for some reason. The waiter kept suggesting “ oh well your going to have to pay for that you know because that is not free” or “ Well the fish is $49.99 just so you know ” so it was highly inappropriate in my opinion because we did not ask him how much anything was in the first place. I would not go back again. Very disappointed. I would definitely speak to the manager if possible.
