Tiato Kitchen + Garden is an eco-friendly Santa Monica restaurant serving Cal-Asian cuisine. Tiato is the sister restaurant of award-winning Beverly Hills staple Crustacean Restaurant, Da Lat Rose BH, and Orange County's Anqi. Named after the mint-like herb, Tia tô, fuses together classic Vietnamese dishes, healthy farm to table ingredients, and some Californian flair. Our expansive patio houses not only a great events venue and perfect dinner date setting, but it is also the home to many essential herbs used in our culinary creations.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our dinner experience last night. Service was very slow (even though there were hardly any diners there), the food was okay, half of our food was lukewarm (including 2 soups), and we had to wave the servers down to ask for things since they rarely checked on us. Even the garlic noodles were disappointing even though the same ones at Crustacean are great. They told us they were out of chicken about 10 minutes after one of us ordered chicken with our salad. They also said they were out of mango sticky rice about 10 minutes after we ordered only that for dessert, and then suddenly they brought us the mango sticky rice we ordered. The servers who brought the dessert looked at each other confused as to why we were told by someone else that they were out of that. Very disorganized with what seemed like plenty of staff for less than 10 tables in the whole restaurant with people dining.

One of the most beautiful patio settings in LA (yes, I know it is in SM). This place should be packed and hard to reserve but its not. Food is very good and prices very reasonable. Service could be better.

Celebrated our girlfriend’s birthday here and it was just the perfect venue. We opted for the patio table and we were so glad we did. The ambiance was really nice and felt like so away from the city. The food was all delish, being that is owned by the famed Ann family. Every dish was good. The service was excellent! They truly catered to us group of 8 women celebrating and enjoying our friend’s birthday. I will definitely go back here again! Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we were able to find street parking a block and a half down the street. I’m not aware of any parking in the building.

This is a beautiful garden setting with a great drink menu and fantastic happy hour food items that no one knows about. An's garlic noodles make it a delight.....if there were only a bit more people because the ambience is fantastic!

Similar to other reviews, showed up to a 8:30p reservation and the restaurant was shutting down. Was seated before being told that the kitchen had "ran out of food". No call to tell me that the reservation could not be honored, no communication between the staff and kitchen. Nice physical space, but entire operation needs work, especially if you are going to accept reservations for times you are unable to honor.

The salmon entree with the Kim chee veggies was outstanding as were the garlic noodles. My husband ordered the rib eye and wasn’t impressed. The banana fritters with vanilla ice cream were amazing! The service was slow and spotty…hard to find servers to assist. But the food and atmosphere were good enough we will go back and give it another try. Hopefully service will be more professional, efficient and more present.

The restaurant was practically empty. The music was great. Best songs of the 80s and 90s. The garlic noodles were good, but not as good as at Crustacean.

It was closed! I was totally embarrassed and terribly inconvenienced. There was a sign on the door closed dec 25 to jan 6. we received email confirmation for our dec 30 reservation on dec 29! we were left to scramble for another restaurant with our guests in two cars on a busy holiday friday night. Can Open Table be used anymore?
