Serving up a fabulous small plate menu alongside our deli & No.1 Sunday roast. We pride ourselves on sourcing local ingredients - why not take a look at our menu and see what takes your fancy?

The Workshop celebrates the hospitality industry with a unique take on a small plate restaurant. Our ground floor wine bar offers 40 different wines. The wine list will take you on a journey across the globe, from the crowd pleasing to the not so readily available grape. All wines available by the glass. Matching this is our first floor restaurant, which has a big seafood influence, alongside vegetarian and meat dishes, helping to create our small plate menu.
All menus on site are indicative of the food we serve

Our busy bar also throws up a good selection of craft ales, fully stocked gin bar & not forgetting our cocktail menu. So call in and sample our family run venue with over 50 years experience in providing good quality food & drinks.

Feel the roast dinner was very over priced ,the waitress recommended the 2 for £55 which gave you 3 other meats instead of the £22 beef only dinner. When the meat arrived it was 2 pieces of beef (very chewy) , 2 pieces of gammon and a single piece of chicken. For £11 extra I fail see what we actually got for the money, surely we would’ve had at least 4 pieces of beef for the £22 I don’t feel it was worth the extra £11. At £27 a starter or desert should’ve been included. The total bill for two roast dinners and two beers was £67. That’s a lot of money for a roast … staff are lovely and friendly and do look after you

First visit & really impressed. Family friendly and dog friendly but noise levels very gentle. I'd asked about 2 for £50 offer in advance & even though that's usually a Thurs offer, I was told I could have it on a Saturday (we'd made an early dinner reservation). Staff & surroundings very warm and welcoming. Steak and huge pork chop were tender and perfectly cooked. Sides were fries, truffle fries & onion rings. All delicious, but we could have done with a veg option amongst the sides (a small salad would have been perfect with what we had to give a bit of freshness). Very minor niggle, we'll definitely go again. The small plates menu looked fab and excellent value at 3 for £17.50. Highlt recommend.

Friendly, welcoming and a nice buzz. Some really tasty dishes...Torched Sea Bass was outstanding! Plenty to eat with 3 plates & a little take home. Would definitely recommend & will return (again). Thank you

Nice chat with who was the owner or manager.food was lovely and portions big, which is not always the case with tapas. Reasonable wine prices. Nice surroundings.

The workshop was amazing once again. Food was delicious, the wine was great. The staff were fabulous, it was quite busy as the street xmas market was on. But there was no rushing to get our table cleared. They were happy for us to stay as long as we wanted. Although I think we were maybe the only people who had booked lol. Fully recommend going for Sunday roast here as its soon good. All the food is always good though. They also do nice cocktails and beers. Just go, you won't be disappointed.

The Workshop was fantastic - our only issue was that the restaurant did not have our booking as they no longer use Opentable. You should not be advertising a restaurant that is no longer subscribing

Favourite place to go for Sunday lunch Outstanding as always wife and kids had the chicken while I had the rare cooked roast beef, Absolutely outstanding, Roast potatoes crispy and fluffy, Vegetables cooked to perfection and plenty of them also which is always a good thing Will be back when we next go out for Sunday lunch

Very good food , service was not so good, had to go to bar to ask for a drink, waiter didn’t really understand the menu . Music starting playing as we finished our meal and was really loud so we left

We come here regularly as the food is always incredible, the drinks are great, staff are lovely and it’s really reasonably priced :) 11/10 as always.

Absolutely amazing food once again. We are so lucky to have this fantastic restaurant so close by. The Panko oysters were incredible, octopus special was most certainly that, delicious! The risotto was so creamy and flavourful and Andy’s steak was perfect….best peppercorn sauce ever! Steve’s wine recommendations were perfect!

Really good food, very friendly staff, dog welcomed too! I would recommend it especially if you like tapas type food. Good location and easy parking on streets nearby.

Changed menu since last visit to a summer menu - wasn’t overly impressed with variety. Shame there wasn’t anything on par with the beef shin we had at Christmas. Food was all average for the price. Best thing we had was the tandoori cauliflower as was the only thing with good flavours. Chicken thighs were disappointing. And the risotto was all very mushy and runny. Service was great though, although felt very rushed as we were only table upstairs and the kitchen was closing apparently. cocktails and drinks were excellent though.

We’d not been to the restaurant for sometime & were not disappointed. The food was lovely & well presented. The two young ladies working, one called Maddie, were so pleasant & helpful with us deciding on choice of food. We had such a lovely experience there.

Spotlessly clean venue. Friendly,knowledgeable and professional staff (male and female, sorry names not known) Some dishes not available as awaiting supplies. Alternative options accommodated and included in small plates offer. Would definitely go again. Thank You

Often reviews can vary due to expectations. And here I got disappointed from the start due to those expectation. I had look at the menu online and was really looking forward to trying some of the dishes. But the menu was totally different when I arrived and not that interesting. The food was ok, well it was nice. The atmosphere was a bit too noisy (music a bit too loud) for my liking, but we could still hear each other. But the service was fairly bad. All staffs were very nice and smiley, but one came and took the carafe of wine even though there was still some left in it and then another one started to pick up stuff put it on my unfinished plate and then asked if I was finished. I wasn't but it was a bit too late to ask. I went a bit out of my way to try this place, so i don't think I'll go back. I might have given them another chance if I was local. But I would wait for the next menu change.

We had the roast dinner which was beautifully served, each individual item was well seasoned and so tasty! Plenty of it and served hot. Lots of gravy a big plus as I always find this lacking in most roast dinners. Will definitely be returning and would encourage anyone to go and try……..

Amazing food, truly wonderful! Quite an emphasis on a fishy menu but all the better for it. Ox cheek sharing plate was epic too. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. An absolute pleasure and great value. Superb cocktails also
