Live Jazz at the Whitby Bar is returning every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. Enjoy classic Negroni cocktails as you listen to live jazz music from The Sam Taylor Trio.

For our Afternoon Tea service, please book via Open Table through the EXPERIENCE option. To confirm your afternoon tea reservation, we require a credit card for our cancellation policy. Should you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, a $50/pp cancellation fee will incur.

The Whitby Bar and Restaurant, inside The Whitby Hotel located in the heart of upper Midtown, offers modern American food in a uniquely eclectic setting. Open daily for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.

Join us at The Whitby Bar for a delicious Afternoon Tea served in the colorful restaurant or the elegant Orangery. Served on Kit Kemp's beautiful Sailor's Farewell Wedgwood china, enjoy delectable finger sandwiches, including smoked salmon mousse, Egg salad & Truffles, selection of mouthwatering cakes and homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves. $75 per person or $95 including a glass of Joseph Perrier. Afternoon Tea service reservations are booked through the experience. We ask you to cancel your reservation by 10pm the day prior. We have a 5 minute grace period in case you are running late. Please call 646-928-4207 If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Special requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance.

This is the second time I have gone for high tea. It is such an elegant room with high class service. The food is very good with nice choices.

Very disappointing reservation process. I made a reservation for 1030 afternoon tea on Open Table’s site. The instructions said to select EXPERIENCE which was not an option listed,therefore, I added a note in the special request/instructions box, stating the reservation was for Tea, as it was a special occasion for my husband. I only received one email confirmation. I then tried to call multiple times as the site suggested to verify our reservation, but couldn’t get through. Upon our arrival, we were told tea is not served until 1300. The pot our earl grey was brewed in had an insufficient sized spout, therefore, the loose leaf tea almost completely plugged the hole so much we didn’t even get leaves in the strainer. Whitby’s own granola mix in the açai bowl was stale. For a high end establishment, the experience was very disappointing with poorly trained staff. The waitress reached across our plates multiple times while serving. Never again.

The dining room and bar are amazing. The space has an interesting exciting design. design . The staff seems to be fairly new , but courteous and helpful . The food however was mediocre .the restaurant need a new chef

Our cocktails were awful and tasted watered down. Very expensive for not much. You used to be my go to to take customers to. Not more.

Poor value for price. Service person vaguely attentive and not well trained, reaching over guests rather than moving around table to serve guest more directly

Lovely atmosphere and good service. We came for afternoon tea and the food was average. Expected a bit more for the cost but still had a lovely time.

Gracious hostess willingly seated me early. Nice bartender made a perfect cape codder will I waited for my table. Afternoon tea was delicious and service prompt and professional.

Lovely relaxing breakfast. Food is delicious. Crispy turkey bacon. Hash brown wedge presentation was unique and cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. Food came out quickly yet a little bit of a wait to order. Nice ambiance. Eclectic decor. Definitely a nice start to the day.
