Thank you for having an upper experience restaurant on the lake that we can easily get to. Drinking out of real glasses and having dinner served on a real plate was wonderful. We enjoyed our quiet dinner. We are frequent visitors to Captain Pete's with our grandchildren. We did think having Captain Pete's runners coming up in shorts and T-shirts hurt the atmosphere for finer dining. Our server was dressed in black, which fit the setting better. My Redfish was a little overcooked. Otherwise, the experience was wonderful. We plan to return.

The food and service were great! We had the Salmon and the Redfish and both were perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and generously sized. The full bar and quiet atmosphere made for great conversation and the riverview elevated the evening to another level. And the walls opened up so we could enjoy the gentle evening breeze! A great place to enjoy an evening with friends.

I can’t believe I live 1 mile away from a restaurant that has food this great! I would drive an hour to find a meal that is this incredible. Great service, fresh ingredients and fantastic atmosphere. I highly recommend the salmon!

Our waitier Guy made the night for us! Extremely attentive, kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and just all around a great guy. Each of us had something different to eat, and we all said it was very good!

We had reservations at 6:30 and arrived on time. We were not served our food until 7:40. The food was OK, but the service was ridiculously slow.

We had the most delicious dinner here for Valentine’s Day. The spinach salad and the rotisserie chicken were AMAZING. We loved the Mexican martinis, the sweet potato skillet cornbread, and the crab stuffed shrimp. Everything about the evening was incredible. Just FYI-climbing up all the stairs to get back to the parking lot is quite a workout and will kill your buzz 😂 Totally worth it, though!!

I brought my family out here for a dinner after a long day of traveling. Upon walking down the long ramp to get to the floating restaurant we were honestly skeptical about what we were about to eat, since it looked so empty. This by far was one of the best meals that we’ve had in a really long time our service was impeccable. Our waiter was outstanding, had great energy knew the menu inside and out, and honestly really made our meal! he was absolutely fantastic. I hope that every single time that I bring friends and family out to this restaurant at the wheelhouse he is there to wait on us! I got the salmon with the orzo pasta, and everything was so seasoned and flavored so perfectly. Everyone at the table was so excited about their food and the quality of it. we were the only ones in the restaurant given it is Christmas Eve eve but still I cannot emphasize how excited we are to come back to bring more people back here and show them this amazing hidden gem out in Point venture!

Not only did the food take forever to come out, They got one order wrong, another entree had to be taken back because the risotto was extremely salty. They did take it off the menu, but when we asked for a spinach salad instead (no protein), it took another 30min to come out. The restaurant was not busy. We were the 3rd table they were serving, but it took 45-1hr to get our appetizers and another 45-1hr to get our entrees. The salad came the quickest, but it’s still way too long for it to be so low.

We have eaten at the Wheelhouse a few times now and it has always been exceptional. Unfortunately last night the food and service wasn’t as good as past visits.

Great food and service. Guy is great. The seared tuna was cooked perfectly and the roaster chicken and potato’s were excellent.

This place did not disappoint! Food was delicious and portions were house! I highly recommend trying the sweet potato skillet cornbread! Ambiance was elegant but not too stuffy and service was impeccable!

Our experience was wonderful! We had some out of town friends visiting us & we were both celebrating our anniversaries . Guy was our waiter & he was excellent! He was very attentive & friendly! Food was great ! We had salmon & New York steak . We will definitely b back

We booked our reservation online hours before hand it was our first time trying the Wheelhouse, and we were happy to have a night out. When we arrived we were told their AC wasn't working, and that is was "96 degrees" and "102 upstairs" after the seated us. We were seated in the downstairs area, known as capt. Petes. A super casual bar like setting. It was hot and I had a red bucket on the back of the booth where AC condensation was dripping behind me and would splash up occasionally on our table and myself. Our server, Sam, was nice. The crab cakes, and tuna were very good. The cornbread tasted like straight carrot cake. Drinks were good, the Mojito and Mexican Martini were refreshing. We went here for a date night and were pretty disappointed that we were not told, a call, text, anything before hand of the situation. We wanted to have a nice relaxing atmosphere. As Locals to the area we were happy to try a place that was a good, tasteful, and more upscale date night. Unfortunately, it ended up being hot and disappointing. I totally understand that things happen and that there are things out of our control when it comes to the Texas heat, but I was bummed that we were not notified. We would have booked for another time when it was all fixed and would have liked to have given a better review, but I have to be honest in saying that it was not as we had hoped.

My husband and I had our 6th year wedding anniversary there and it was fantastic. Sam our server was so friendly and our food was amazing. We ordered steak and stuffed crab shrimp. DELISH!!! We had a great time there. Grateful we didn't have to drive in to Austin to have a nice celebratory dinner. Thank you Wheel House!

Very enjoyable evening with fine service and cocktails. The redfish is excellent. The chicken was a bit overcooked but understandable given how busy Pete's was on a Saturday night. This goes in my weekend rotation. Can't wait for cooler fall temps to enjoy the deck.

Awesomeness. First time here. Huge crowd outside on patio downstairs. Live music and good vibe. I had crab stuffed shrimp. Rich and delicious!!

Great food! We had a table of 6 and everyone cleaned their plate. It was amazing food and we enjoyed ourselves so much. We celebrated a Birthday and we are so happy to have this venue close to Lago Vista! We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Had the beef tips and were way over cooked. The truffle sauce did not taste the same or as good as the first time. The crab cakes were undercooked. We ordered 3 NY strips all were very grisly. The stuffed shrimp was a combo of weird. Shrimp over cooked, the batter around the shrimp runny. The atmosphere and service was great. Am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the food for my 2nd time going. However the first time there was amazingly mouth watering delicious.

The cornbread was to die for. The service was superb. I had the tuna and it was fantastic... way more food than I expected. My husband had the redfish and it was moist and flavorful. We had a great view and got to watch all the activity on the lake. Great music. It was a wonderful evening.

Seafood dishes were good. The streaks tasted like they were thawed on the grill and were not tender. Wine selection was fine. Asked for the spinach to be sauteed without garlic, but clearly had garlic.

Great, my third time here. Had the tuna entrees with teriyaki sauce. Was excellent, tuna cooked (rare) perfectly. One negative, it had WAY too much sauce, I would half that and it would be plenty. Otherwise all good.

This hidden gem in Lago Vista/Point Venture is outstanding. The restaurant is located right above Captain Pete’s with a beautiful view of Lake Travis. It has a wonderful ambience - very relaxing with nice music. Our meals were delicious- I will absolutely be back very soon!
