If you are unable to find street parking, there is valet along Wynkoop Street while public lots and garages are tucked around near the corner of 15th & Wynkoop.

Executive Chef Jon Simoneau has developed a menu that features a range of New American dishes that can be enjoyed with your closest friends and family. We refresh our menu seasonally so our guests always have something new to look forward to. Sommelier Chris Dominey leads the wine program and has carefully curated an extensive selection of wines that is both approachable and would satisfy any connoisseur.

My wife and I went to the Velvet Cellar with another couple for dinner. The service was pretty good, not overly sophisticated but attentive. The food was ok, none of us were wowed by the food. The portions were smaller than is typical. Dessert menu was two items, no thank you to both. Ambience was nice and the space is pretty. It seems like the chef just hasn’t worked out the dishes properly and for the price the amount and quality of the dishes just isn’t there.

Everything was outstanding. Only recommendation is to not remove plates and glasses so quickly. Several times I needed to tell the food runner/busser that we were not finished.

A great spot before theatre, sporting event, or when you want a great by the glass wine list. Always love the food and friendliness of the owners. One or both of them always stop by to say hi and make sure everything is ok. The tuna starter is amazing. Love the hanger steak and beet salad too. The only miss the last time was the crispy lions mane ragu. Would have been much better if the lions mane was just sautéed and not breaded and fried. The breading was too much and you lost the taste of the mushroom.

This was our 1st time going to The Velvet Cellar. We wanted to have a nice dinner out w/some good friends & I had seen a promo video online giving this restaurant glowing reviews. I made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance & everything seemed good to go. We arrived about 10 minutes early & the restaurant was rather empty. We were seated at a high top table w/bar stools that had no backs – despite several other non-high top tables being open. My husband & I debated on what to do knowing that we weren’t going to be comfortable sitting on hard, backless bar stools for our meal. We asked our server if we could move to one of the many open booths. She went to the host who came to our table & told us that not only were there a lot of people currently coming in, but also that the booths are reserved for parties of 2 & they're too small to accommodate a group of 4. We were not given another option so we waited for our friends to arrive – debating on leaving for another restaurant. Our friends had the same reaction we did about having to sit on a hard, backless bar stool. So we asked again about moving. This time the host came over &, in a very condescending tone, told us that it was going to be very difficult to "provide a decent level of service to our table due to how crowded it will be w/all of the plates." Despite his attitude & lack of customer service, we ended up choosing a booth. Was it a cozy fit? Yes. Did we mind? NO! We actually had a BETTER time b/c we were able to hear one another & there was NEVER an issue w/the table being too crowded or a lack of good service. Our waitress was phenomenal, the food was delicious & we ultimately ended up having a great experience. *After a long conversation with the owner, I am happy to report that the backless barstools will be replaced soon! We'll be back to test out the new ones!

As I said when we spoke on the phone, this is in no way, shape, or form indicative of the experience we want ANY of our guests to have. I sincerely hope you will give us another chance and chalk this up to a "one time only" lapse in our standards. I look forward to seeing you back soon and also - we are getting rid of the backless stools. We cannot stand them either!

Great location really nice renovation feels roomy but also vibrant. Waitress extremely knowledgeable about all of the menu and drinks. Owner stopped by to make sure everything was cool and was very easy to chat with. Definitely a great date night place but also would be fine and fun for small groups. food quality and prep was great!

The owner, sommelier and our waitress were so friendly. Whomever the cook is YES CHEF!!! We tried 6 dishes and the flavors were spot on. Will definite be back my next visit.

This spot is in a great location and has a fun, bar vibe inside. I think it would be a great place for a drink and appetizers. We went for a family Easter brunch and we were seated at a high top table with very uncomfortable chairs not suitable for children. The food took a long time to come out and the eggs were cold. I would return for a drink but not for brunch.

We had a fantastic brunch experience! The owner came by and introduced himself and told us about the menu. He made amazing suggestions and we will definitely come back and recommend to others. The biscuit is a must try as well as Denver’s best secret cocktail!

First time dining with them. It was AMAZING!!! The food was incredible and the drinks were awesome. Great staff, great service and great ambiance. Conveniently located across from a parking garage, so access was easy, in and out. We will DEFINITELY be back soon!

Parts of this restaurant were incredibly charming. The owner stopped by our table and was lovely and so kind. I really wanted to love this place. The waitstaff needs to be improved, however. Our waiter took one drink order (a table of 5, we ordered a bottle of wine to share). When the waiter brought the bottle, he didn't know how to pronounce the label and made a joke about it... ok. We also ordered a charcuterie board, and the server who brought it didn't know what 2 of the cheeses were. Once our meals were served, the waiter never came back to ask if we'd like another bottle or another drink. After we finished our meals, the dirty plates sat on our table for OVER 30 minutes. Our waiter was working several tables, and I kept trying to make eye contact to show him we were finished, but he refused to look our way. I finally had to call the owner back over and ask him to have someone clear our plates. Some of our plates had a really strong odor and it was very off-putting after a while. If the waiter had come back, we likely would have ordered another bottle of wine, but by this time we were all frustrated and ready to leave. The food was ok... one of us got the Steak Frites (he liked it), two of us got the Salmon (not bad, but it tasted like it had been soaked in dill pickle juice), and two of us got the Shrimp & Grits (one person took 2 bites and pushed it aside). The entire dinner took over 3 hours, which is a bit too long for me. If you have tons of time, are easy to please, and are fine with one beverage you may really like this place.

We had a 730 reservation and as we were heading to a show at Ball arena we were on a bit of a tight schedule. Unfortunately the restaurant had multiple folks call in and were severely understaffed. Sounds like a recipe for disaster BUT they did everything right. Let us know upfront about the staffing issue. Prepared us for a wait from the bar and suggested some solutions (maybe order wine not cocktails). The owner/manager preemptively offered us a discount on the total bill. Before we sat down… before we would think to complain. Sometimes as a restaurant owner you have to deal with what the evening throws at you. Hats off to this team for making what could have been a big mess into an opportunity. We were impressed.

Food was fantastic - straightforward menu with something for everyone. Well prepared and great flavor. Owners are hands-on, friendly and attentive. Great place for dinner date or cocktails. Brunch service is starting soon and will definitely go back.

Andy, our server, who is a shoe in for Toby Maguire, was amazing. Super friendly and very helpful with the menu. The Worldly Wine Flight Mix was fantastic and allowed tasting of 4 exceptional wines. The owner greeted us at the table with the wines pouring directly from the bottles along with a concise description of each wine. The salmon, steak frites and lion’s mane ragu that my family and I had were delicious and served in a timely fashion. The other amazing aspect of this restaurant is the exposed old timber framing with walls of wine. Such a cool atmosphere.

Service was great! We were late for our reservation because the show we saw started late and they still accommodated us. Drinks (perfect Old Fashioned) were delicious! Food was amazing- we had the steak & frites and shrimp& grits. Both were outstanding. Will go again!

Great vibe, fantastic food. Korean lollipops are fabulous. Farmhouse chicken, and shrimp and grits were tasty. We’ll be back. Co- owner is the som. Very helpful and friendly.

Easy in and out, with great service and good food, we enjoyed our experience at the Velvet Cellar. Every dish we had was quite good, from the charcuterie board to the awesome Ube Brûlée dessert. Would recommend to others.

Open since December 2023 sometime, according to our server, getting word of mouth. our dinner was at 6:30, crowd was sparse but grew through the evening. Lots of buzzy talk from patrons. My groups first time there. I think a few groups tried to drop in after a game. FYI, it was abit chilly at the windows I asked about v/veg options when entered and they could accommodate changes like on the bruschetta, the lardons and beff tendrils could be excluded. Korean lollipops (4) could be a meal with a salad. Beet salad came up trumps. Two of us shared the steak, well salted and tender, frites were good. Some would question some of the pricing, that would be an individual decision. The sommelier suggest a lovely white wine for one of our guests that was meant for the moment The directors cut; food was overall delicious, cocktails flavorful, an excellent complement of mocktails, good wine and attentive service

We were greeted by lovely hostess and seated at a great booth. The menu is just right, something for everyone and not too big. Every cocktail was unique and expertly crafted with a velvet touch. Must visit!!
