The Statler is an American Bistro and Cocktail Bar nestled into the heart of Downtown Detroit's Entertainment District. The Statler offers classic cuisine with a slightly modern twist, catering to both adventurous and traditional diners alike. Our menu was created by Certified Master Chef Daniel Scannell, modeling a French Bistro. The Statler delivers a world class Gastro and Mixology Bar and Formal Dining Room Experiences. The service was great. Did not find the food to be anything out of the ordinary. Was a bit pricey for what you order specially beverages. A 12$ French press served 1.5 cups. 🙄

Katrina was a wonderful server. The food, as usual, was excellent. The Statler is one of our favorite Detroit restaurants, especially for special occasions. This time it was for Mother's Day.

Ordered the lobster Benedict and there was barely any lobster. The English muffin was so large it was basically bread with a small egg on top and 3 small pieces of lobster, if that. Not worth $32. Server was really great and attentive. Atmosphere was nice! Very French bistro!

The venue and food were excellent. I thought the primary wait staff could have been more attentive and visited our table more often. Outside of that, I highly recommend the restaurant.

The food was excellent. The homemade rolls were crisp on the outside with a heavy dough inside. Delicious. I ordered the sauteed sole with Beurre blanc sauce accompanied by haricots vert (GREEN BEANS) and sauteed potatoes---all delicious. The service was very good with several people checking on us to see if everything was OK. It appears that service is as important as the food and that is greatly appreciated.

It was our first time at the Statler and we really enjoyed coming. We don't come to Detroit very often but I chose the Statler for the reviews and it's menu. We just returned from a trip to France this past year and I wanted to relived it just a little for Mother Day. I was a little disappointed in the escargot but every else was fabulous.

The service was impeccable. The dishes I ordered were plentiful and flavorful. The decor of the restaurant is very reminiscent of of a Parisian bistro. I would highly recommend the Statler for a memorable culinary experience.

Veronica was our server. Perfect, personal service. Andree, the Sommelier was amazing with her stories and her training. Never had that in any type of restaurant ever. Food was fantastic. Dessert cart had so many fantastic options. Amazing.

Our waitress Katrina was awesome, very friendly and attentive. We ordered steak au poivre and the bouillabaisse, both were fantastic. The au poivre has a pretty intense pepper crust if that helps someone out. I’ve been here before, but we came in on NFL draft weekend, and still had great service. I also appreciated a table visit by the restaurant’s sommelier.

We made an effort to make a reservation for Friday during the draft and called to make sure they would still honor the happy hour. Once we arrived, they would not honor it! Very disappointed

As a longtime fan of Open Table,(170 completed reservations) I have discovered many wonderful restaurants across the country with only a couple of duds along the way. The Statler was a complete NEGATIVE surprise. The food and service were equally poor and so bad that my wife and I felt like we were being punked. My bouillabaisse was served withered and luke warm. My wife had to ask three times for a cup of coffee which also(finally) arrived luke warm. I asked to see the wine list however our server never returned for my order so, no wine. Their website looks great, the space itself is beautiful, they put a lot of thought into how they look—-not enough into the important parts.

This was our second visit to The Statler. This time before heading to Andrea Bocelli at Little Caesar’s Arena. The weather was fantastic. The patio was open and people were lively. The mater d’ welcomed us at our arrival and we were promptly seated. My husband loved the pate’ and the mussels. Service was very good- especially considering that our server appeared to have been triple sat and with a large table. It seems that could have been arranged better- but it was an opera night so perhaps unavoidable. We were perfectly pleased. Our only recommendation would be to consider a theater menu with small plates/tapas that is easy on the kitchen and convenient for theater guests. This provides an opportunity for guests to sample perhaps different menu options and allow the kitchen to expedite more efficiently. Again- we had no problem with food or service we were just thinking about it as we have seen many restaurants exercise that creativity. Consider pairing it with the event- Bocelli escargot with an Italian twist :)

Our server was friendly, but very absent. He took a long time to take our order, never asked if we wanted another drink, served our food and never showed up again until asking the water person multiple times for our check. Ultimately we waited 20 minutes to receive our check and we were late for a concert. The food was good but overpriced.

OMG! The food and wine pairing is a must! The smoke bourbon Old Fashion was a stand out! It was my first time trying steak tartare....Where have you been my whole life. The steak tartare was so velvety smooth. The foie gras appetizer was devoured in mere moments.The French onion soup was lovely. It was the sherry in the soup which sent it over the top. We took deserts homes as they are clearly shareable items. My wife and I enjoyed our banana/walnut cheesecake at home. Service was spot on. Valet parking for 20 was well worth it. We will definitely be returning with more friends.

We were pleasantly greeted upon arrival. I had requested a booth but we were seated at a table. Gregg was our waiter and he was attentive but did not ask if we were celebrating anything, share any specials, or inquire if we were first timers. It was a missed opportunity since I was celebrating my birthday, which I noted in OpenTable. He did not go out of his way to share anything about the menu. The food was delicious and portions were huge! We were not offered a dessert menu. My husband got the 4 course meal and it was assumed I’d be sharing instead of wanting my own dessert. I ordered my own birthday cake and all was well. We had a lovely meal but did not meet expectations.

There was 4 of us and we had great expectations. We were disappointed in the food, average at best and the service was terrible. The French salad and the dessert was the best items. The mussels were somewhat fishy, the French onion soup was very salty. We ordered short ribs, Dover sole, seafood boullibase, and duck. We waited a long time for our food. People around us who came before us were done and gone by the time we finished our entrees. When our entrees came the manager brought them out and he looked for our waitress to serve but she was no where in sight, finally she plated the last 2 dishes. We told the waitress the Dover sole was on the cold side and she had no reaction or any response she went on clearing the table. She just didn’t care. There are too many good restaurants in the area to give my money to. 3 drinks, 2 salads, French onion soup, 4 entrees, and a dessert was $324 without tip. We will not be back.

Made reservations for our 41st anniversary. The service from the moment we walked in was outstanding! Not over the top but always there as needed. Good was outstanding. Great experience. We’ll be back for sure.

Our waitress was great! Food exceeded expectations. Limited menu for Sunday evening, but it was due to it being end of the week so they were out of some things. Would definitely recommend, worth it.

Food was very good. Wife’s seafood stew was excellent. My fish special was very tasty but a bit undercooked. Waitress was obviously new but very attentive. Overall we would go back. Really enjoyed our time there.
