The joint venture began with Southern California natives that pooled their collective life savings and began work on their dream concept: The name pays homage to the restaurant’s first location on State Street in historic downtown Redlands.

We went here to celebrate my birthday and I reserved the patio for seven with a fire pit. It was set up before I was even there so I was seated immediately and it was a beautiful table outside with a gas fire pit in the middle. The server was amazing and the bartender personally delivered my birthday shot which was delicious. My food was amazing. Also as I ordered the crawfish mac & cheese. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates.

Arrived and told wait was 45 minutes, despite the massive number of open tables on a Saturday . Opened OpenTable, found a 7 PM reservation (10 min from walking in) and was sat promptly. Grilled cheese and artichoke dip…no cheese. Has potential but won’t come back.

Overall good experience. The restaurant was loud for the average number of patrons there. They were also out of a few whiskey menu items and food was slow to come out. The staff was knowledgeable to the menu items and willing to offer suggestions.

To improve just in wait time for reservation still had to wait a while although we had a reservation. Beside that we had good service and checked in on us when we needed anything else.

Food is always great and the drink selection is top notch. I had the egg sandwich and the basil bourbon lemonade. Food was delicious and the drink was refreshing. One of our favorite spots

My husband and I rarely get out and we were thankful we came to The State. The service was impeccable. The food was absolutely delicious. The speed of service and how quick our food arrived to the table was amazing. The manager Jesse, was very attentive and delightful as well. We couldn’t have had a better experience.
