The extraordinary tea presentation features beautifully prepared desserts hanging from the branches of a cherry blossom tree, all surrounded by a selection of mouth-watering savory bites at the tree’s base. Guests who reserve the Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea can choose from a fine selection of luxurious teas from Dammann Frères, including an exclusive custom blended cherry blossom tea, alongside delectable cherry blossom inspired bites and treats. Available Wednesdays through Sundays, March 15 through June 2, from 1pm to 5pm at $109++ per person.

Food was really good, but servings could be more. Valets were very rude when I was picking up my family at the front entrance. I was <5 minutes. I got down to call my family to the door and to put the stroller in the back but the valets repeatedly asked me to move even though I already moved out of the way. Is it not normal to stop for a few minutes in front to load and unload? Sorry just because we’re not actual guests at the hotel doesn’t mean the valets need to be rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends.

Have you had a chance to experience the Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea at @stregisdc??? The Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea is available until June 1st (Sun - Wedn) so be sure to make a reservation now. You don't want to miss it. You're served with savory bites and then presented with desserts on a Cherry Blossom Tree. It's $109 per person but absolutely worth it. I was able to observe the saber champagne ceremony at 6 pm which was divine.

Tea is served in the hotel lobby, which left us feeling on display and out of place. There are people going in and out and stopping to chat and take pictures, wheeling luggage carts around. There were times that it was quite difficult to hear each other. The tea itself was fine, the cherry blossom white tea was very subtle but it was nice; the black tea was served rather weak, though they did bring a slightly stronger pot when we asked. The savory course was very interesting and had strong flavor pairings, with an exception for the egg tart that had no flavor at all. The desserts were served with the tree, as advertised. I was surprised to see that the tree was plastic, not metal or some other less cheap-looking material. From far away and in pictures, it did look lovely. The desserts themselves were surprisingly disappointing. The passion fruit tart and the blueberry scones were favorites at our table, but the rest of them were more of a miss than a hit. There was a very strong theme of raspberry, so if you are a raspberry fan you might enjoy it. It felt like there was a distinct lack of consideration of texture: many of the dessert bites were creamy and soft but lacked something crisp or any other texture. Things that should have offered a bit of a bite or been more crisp, like the macaron shells and the cream puff's choux, were so soft they matched their fillings. The cherry blossom champagne (not included in the price of the tea, available for 32$/glass or by bottle) was quite refreshing and had a lovely flavor profile. We were never offered water, either. Overall, it was an underwhelming afternoon tea in a busy hotel lobby.

I took my fiance to the St Regis for afternoon tea, which is what I had made the reservation for. When we got there we learned that afternoon tea ended at 4:30 (res was for 6:30) and we actually had a reservation for the cherry blossom wheel, which is $150 a person for a glass of champagne and one macaron, a Bon Bon and three small desserts. The desserts tasted good, but a little on the sweeter side, the server was attentive and friendly. My biggest disappointment was the price, even for a fancy hotel, it was insanely overpriced and if I had known it was not the afternoon tea I would have never paid this amount for some desserts and a glass of champagne. The food we had off the menu was more reasonably priced and really good. The gem lettuce salad was delicious. Again my disappointment was with lack of clarity as to what I was booking (afternoon tea vs the dessert wheel) and the over all value those desserts.

Our cherry blossom high tea experience was ok. The ambiance was lovely but our waitress and service was terrible. I expected better since all the other staff we encountered was very polite and friendly.

Even though I gave clear instructions the chef decided to be a boss and pre made the food for us, which I thought was unnecessary. However, the chef need to ask us if something is ok but the chef did not. So we had no right to decide. Overall, I didn’t like it as I need to decide to eat what I like because I pay for it. Chef can only recommend not take over. I will not return to St. Regis again. Also the lady who took the Order was exactly like Alexa anything extra spoken apart from her routine she will say NO. Very robotic conversation. Server -Male was a kind person..

This is my all-time favorite spot for high tea. The Cherry Blossom tea is a must-do at least once in DC. This time, the pastry chef outdid herself! Every. Single. Pastry was absolutely delicious. Every single tea sandwich was delicious. The special Cherry Blossom Damman Freres tea was delicious. The lobby of the St. Regis is gorgeous, with ceilings dating to 1926. The staff is warm and welcoming. It's a very special experience. 5 stars!

Unfortunately, this was one of the most underwhelming tea experiences we have had. I was really looking forward to trying this cherry blossom tea experience but the food options weren’t great and the service was also not as we expected. We weren’t offered waters until the very end of the experience and only after we asked for them. The dessert options were just ok. I prefer the food options, service and overall experience at the Willard in DC over this experience.
