My husband and I were looking forward to eating here, and we were not disappointed! The restaurant is stunning, and bigger than we expected. The whole team, front of house, waiting on staff etc. were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the restaurant and menu. The food is amazing!!! They cook your meat to your exact specifications and tastes out of this world! We had desserts too, and again were amazing! Our waitress Chloe was so lovely, she made us feel so welcome and comfortable all the way through our meal. This was an amazing experience and we cant wait to go back!

The Jamon Croquettes were unbelievable - so delicious !! And then everything was creeping downhill from there. The cocktails were great but they took quite a while to come out. The mojo verde was a great portion but wasn’t our cup of tea - no fault to the restaurant. Garlic butter was nice. The Galician Chateaubriand steak was burnt on the sides, lacked all flavour, was dry, and medium when asked for medium rare. The Manchego truffle fries were under-seasoned and the helping of Manchego was sparse. We were finding ourselves adding a lot (more than usual) salt and pepper to bring out the little flavour that was there. And the Basque Cheesecake was verrrry dry and was only nice accompanied by the little serving of cream and sauce. Sadly, everything there was just missing the mark! And with the price tag, it should have been to much higher quality.

Food was decent but a complicated menu - ordering meat by weight, with varying cuts and prices - and a 12.5% service charge added for a booking of just two detracted from the experience.

Loved our first visit here. The food was first class. First time trying the Spanish cuts. Excellent. Our server was so helpful and checked on us as we went along. Decor is fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.

It was our first visit to The Spanish Butcher (Edinburgh). We were welcomed by lovely professional staff who ushered us to our table. The menu was explained to us in detail and after we ordered the food came pretty quickly. We ordered the ham croquettes, Galician sourdough and the beef burger. All good was delicious! We’ll certainly come back for another visit, or two, or three!!! Thanks 🙏🏻 😃

Really lovely restaurant. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. The food was seriously good, everyone enjoyed everything that was ordered. We will be back soon

This is a must do if you love your meat!! Fantastic experience from start to finish. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were thoroughly spoiled. The staff were all lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Given it was their opening weekend, they've got the service, food and ambience nailed. We'll be back for sure

It's not bad, but it's very much a Scottish take on Spanish food. Good quality ingredients, but more care is required in their prep. The steak served in a cast iron dish, was cold and needed to be sent back (the second time was not much warmer); the potatoes were hard in the centre and needed to be either parboiled for longer, sliced thinner or cooked slower.

We had a wonderful experience at Edinburgh’s new restaurant, everything was fantastic, food was amazing my only slight gripe was I checked if we could take away any meat we couldn’t manage to eat and was told yes but unfortunately this didn’t happen and they flung it away out lovely waitress did try to rectify this but unfortunately it was gone, won’t put me off returning.

We had an early booking so we could get to the theatre for 7pm so atmosphere was probably quieter than might be expected than with a later booking. Personally the light level was a little dark - getting older and the eyes are t what they used to be 🤣 All of the menu sounded excellent but qe eventually chose the Spanish pork to share, we did without the accompanying side orders and instead shared a cauliflower steak between us. The food was excellent. We accompanied the food with a glass of the Rioja reserve which went down a treat.
