The Sociale Restaurant & Lounge in Hollywood is the perfect place to experience the best of Italian-American cuisine located next to the world-famous Pantages Theater and across from the W Hotel. We have dined at Socaial twice before this experience, & we had an Excellent time. This was to be our after Theater restaurant. This Saturday evening was NOT IT. We had 630pm reservation s but arrived 20 min earlier ( after the theater) we were greeted & seated at our reservation table in the back dining area. The restaurant was filling up at other tables & bar area with other Theater folk. We waited at least 30 min ( at a table with No Place settings or water) No one came to take drink orders or give us water. There was one server who seemed overwhelmed trying ti take orders at other tables with no other assistance from staff. We finally heard there would be a 30 min wait from kitchen because of issues & short staff. At this time we should have left but I was out voted by the rest of my party of 5) Our server said the system was down so they had could not generate computer orders but manually. Then the fire alarm.went off. I don't know why a Manager didn't come out to address what was happening in the kitchen & the short staffing. Because they kept sitting folk at tables instead of closing down & try to take care the diners already seated. Some folk had partial orders, hair in their food, overlooked by overwhelmed staff. Finally a manager ( we requested) came out. You can see by his stained clothing he had been trying to help in the kitchen. He was perturbed & overwhelmed as well. He said the Kitchen had problems with the stove, power , & Beverly back up. But still they were letting folk inside. In the end our mutable had 3 orders come out at different times. The others food was NOT served nor our drunks. And now several diners couldn't pay fir their food because cashier system was still down. Some people had the 8pm show to get to & will stop by afterwards to pay. It was a very bad experience that I hope they will train better on what to do in these situations. Clearly they lost money and other potential returning customers. I felt sorry for the staff.

It may have been an off night. We arrived and sat for 45 minutes before we could get someone to take our order and we had tickets for the Pantages at 8. We allowed 2.5 hours for dinner and barely made our show. Everyone was pleasant and would smile and politely state we would be happy right away but nope, nothing for 45 minutes. We actually engaged in conversations with other tables all of us waiting to be helped with submitting an order, getting a drink or paying the check. No one filled our water no matter how many times we asked and we only got to order because we got up to leave and a server caught us and said “please stay.” As for the food, we got the Lobster Pie (a pizza) which did not have a lick of lobster on it. Overall, I will wait for them to get the kinks out.

Basically across the street from Pantages near Shake Shack, so that’s a plus. They have a very small menu and the food was just ok. I had the calamari and about halfway through it became very much like eating cardboard. The bolognese was heavy on the Parmesan and it was not a true bolognese. Rather than being made with ground meat/veal, it was made with chunks of filet. Nice touch but not to my liking. You may, but everyone has their preference. It was pricey for what we got. We won’t be back when there are so many other fantastic places nearby.

This was our first time here, and we really liked it. Part of the restaurant had great ambience, but the part we were sat in in the back was very drab and not very inviting. Also, we found the price a bit high, even for LA. But, we still enjoyed our time there.

Great food! Unfortunately we had to keep flagging down the staff to order. There was no clear waiter assigned to us. We’ll give it another chance- hopefully service will be ironed out.

The staff went above and beyond for us. We were stuck in traffic and had to move our reservation by an hour. Not only did they do that but we had a show to see, so they were able to seat us, feed us and get us out within 25 minutes. We were beyond impressed. Also, they let us store our extra food and the fridge while we saw the show. They went above and beyond and we will definitely be back.

While we were late due to traffic on the 101, they held a table for us. Except, it was on the patio in an area where the heaters were broken. We then sat at a table with no setups for over 10 minutes until someone brought us water. After another 5 minutes someone came to take the drink order. No bread service but eventually, we were moved inside to the back room full of dirty tables. I could see that they were understaffed but the unbussed tables just sat there full of dirty dishes and 1/2 eaten food. The concept is Italian but not really, the spaghetti Bolognese I was served had charred pieces of beef and while taste, it definitely wasn’t homemade as it was very sweet like corn syrup was used. My companion had the hanger steak which was oddly already cut into pieces served with 2 pieces of broccolini and a few potatoes. Definitely not worth $37. Coffee was ordered and took about 20 minutes to deliver only to discover I couldn’t add my own cream and sweetener. My companion ordered a latte and received a cold blended drink. The biggest disappointment was dessert, not only the price but what it turned out to be. A creative use of whipped cream ann nothing more. My cannoli was filled with whipped cream so calling it a cannoli is an insult to actual cannolis. No mascarpone cheese, just whipped cream. 8$ was outrageous seeing what was served. I should have gone down the street and gotten a donut. The server was courteous but obviously overworked. I always tip and left her a decent tip despite the lackluster food and service. All in, $140 and not worth it at all. Skip this restaurant and hopefully something better will be in its place soon.

We made a reservation Friday morning for 8 people for later that night. We only found out as some of my guests arrived 10 mins early to our reservation time that the restaurant was closed for a private event. We received no phone call or anything to tell us that they were closed and it’s pretty lame to tell us that after 8 people made the drive over there. I tried to call to see what the deal was but was forwarded to voicemail each time. All my guests were very irritated and we will definitely not return.
