Went for dinner at 8pm on a Friday night with a colleague, and had a reservation The service was awful, and I spent my time asking for simple things like bread to start (when the tables on either side of us got it immediately). It was incredibly noisy and I have a reasonable tolerance, but it was too much. The only positive was a nice burger, but honestly we ran to the exit door when we were done with our meal Won’t be going back

The Smith is a great brasserie that you don't want to visit for a quiet evening out. The acoustics are LOUD but the food is consistent, well flavored and crowd-pleasing. Staff is friendly and attentive and the homemade chips are always amazing.

The food was good, but our waiter disappeared before the food was brought out and didn’t come back until after we were done. No refills on coffee or tea and we waited forever to tell him we wanted more food.

Near the end of our meal my wife, two kids and I were asked to move tables so that the restaurant could accommodate another party. We told the host or manager that we would rather just pack up the remainder of our food and leave rather than transport our half-eaten plates across the restaurant to another table. After we paid the check and got up to leave with our to-go boxes, the host or manager came to us to say that the restaurant didn’t need the table right away and we could we could sit for a few more minutes. Nothing ruins a dining experience more than being told that you are less important than other customers.

We made a reservation but had to wait 30 minutes for our table to be ready. We sat down and ordered drinks and our waiter spilled one of our drinks all over our table. We were given an appetizer to makeup for the long wait but we noticed after we paid that we were charged for this appetizer that we did not even order. Overall a very poor service experience and OK food.

My friend was running (very) late but they quickly moved our reservation without issue. They were kind enough to seat is in a quieter part of the restaurant. Our server and the rest of the staff couldn't be more accommodating. The food was terrific too!

Our first visit to Nomad’s version of The Smith, which we know from the Lincoln Center location, was for Sunday brunch for four of us at the height of the rush, and it was a crowded place that occasioned a wait of 20 minutes past the reservation time, but the staff was clearly professional as they managed the traffic about as well as could be. A festive place on a beautiful spring day, the level of happy conversation noise was loud but not too loud to have our own conversations. Our server Mike was ideal in spite of the crowd, the Weekend Brunch menu is truly one of the most comprehensive in the city and our food (eggs Benedict, shrimp and grits) was excellent, fresh and flavorful. Perfect place for a Chelsea meet-up if you don’t mind the decibels.

Not great for team events as the venue is very loud. Service was great and friendly. Food was not as advertised and everyone is my group had some measure of complaint about the entree the ordered. Mac and Cheese was amazing though but overall was disappointed in my experience after reading the reviews and it’s unlikely I will go back.

I was entertaining friends from overseas and EVERYTHING was disappointing —food and service I ordered the seafood platter only to be told they were out of shrimp —how do you run out of shrimp at 7:30? Instead we got a very small bowl of salmon tartare (not good) and the tiniest oysters with no sauces (just lemon wedges) Burgers were small (especially for the price) and if the place thinks they compensate for that by giving a heap of fries, guess what: you don’t Unfortunately The Smith has joined a growing list of restaurants that have gone downhill since the pandemic with very similar trends: portions getting smaller, quality of food declining, and service getting increasingly mediocre

My husband and I really enjoyed The Smith - Nomad from its decor, to the service and the amazing food. Our server was fantastic and friendly. For food, we hadn’t planned on eating so much earlier in the day so our dinner was light but so delicious! I had oysters on the half shell, my husband and I split a salmon Caesar salad that was so refreshing, and the drinks were on point! I look forward to going back when ravenous because the burgers at the next table looked divine!

The toffe caramel butter pecan pancakes and the juevos rancheros were to die for. I asked them to put the butter and caramel syrup on the side so I wouldn’t go into a sugar coma. But OH MY GOD, best pancakes I’ve ever had in my 50+ Years. This restaurant is a MUST. Great east coast oysters on the half shell too. Photo Booth in the bathroom was a kick.

I ordered the goat cheese salad with grilled marinated shrimp. It was delicious although I prefer a bit less dressing. My friend ordered the fish & chips which differs from other versions. She liked it very much. It was a birthday celebration so we shared the Hot Fudge Sundae. My friend ordered a Cosmo which I tasted. It was OK but not the best I've had. I ordered Prosecco and it was good. This is the second time I've dined at a Smith Restaurant and I will be back!

Our only problem was that it was SO LOUD that we couldn’t really maintain a conversation. Our server was terrific and so was the food, but it was WAY TOO NOISY!

Service was slow and apathetic. The server was overwhelmed so probably not his fault. Food was below average and the noise levels were bad. They try to cram in as many people as possible so there is zero personal space. We used to love this place but the quality has nosedived

The Smith was a buzzy, weekend brunch experience. Food and drinks are good but very pricey. If you’re looking for a social, upscale experience it certainly delivers.
