The Simpson complements Brooklyn’s new restaurant age from Williamsburg to Prospect Park, by offering a seafood friendly Caribbean/Soul Food cuisine and an inspired Classic Cocktail menu infused with the nuances and flavors of the Afro Diaspora’s spice market. The Simpson will embody the soulful vibes and beats of the borough, while capturing the exuberance of the New Brooklyn Renaissance through Art, Music, Mixology and Cuisine. The service will be reminiscent of wherever you call home, as Chef’s “Cooking with Love” menu will be completed with with an array of delectable pastries and desserts, yummy mock tails for the non-drinker, and creative elixirs for the adventurous. Menu highlights include Hennessy Fried Shrimp, Bourbon Bbq, 5 Cheese Macaroni Pie, and Wings.

I had left one restaurant to come here to dine for my bday and I’m glad I did. The restaurant is very nice, the manager was super awesome and food amazing. Will definitely return. Made my day feel special.

The restaurant is self OK very clean be honest with 100 but the waiter was very relaxed. kept bringing us wrong food over distant. I give him one.

Jessica, our server, was the best!!! and needs a raise too! She knew all the dishes and gave best recommendations about appetizers, food, drink cocktails and desserts …. She gave uber friendly service with a smile even when the restaurant got busy. Priceless! Diamond “white glove” service! Jessica is the Best! and the owner… Top Chef in my book … chef extraordinaire Chef Wenford Patrick Simpson was funny and friendly and allowed us a photo!! TY Simpson Restaurant!!!

I got the beans with oxtail which came with rice and peas and greens. I also ordered the Mac and cheese on the side. The meal was delicious for the most part, however, the green and cabbage tasted steamed. I would like a little more flavor on the greens

This was my second time dining. The food was great except for my codfish fritters appetizer that were a bit rubbery. We had to wait over 45 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. I am booking another reservation for another friend birthday dinner next month and your main courses and cocktails are exceptionally good.

make sure you have time to spare whenever you go. I won’t lie the food was good 8.5/10. Friendly hostess and waitress however even with a reservation my party ended up waiting an hour to be seated. I also did mention it was the birthday of one of our people and there is a complimentary cake and sparkler, we didn’t even receive it and the person was young so it was a little disheartening ..

The food was delicious but the drinks were not that great and they did not have the drink I wanted but I’m going to give it another try in a few weeks and see if it’s better but we did love our meals. I had the escovitch fish with festival and veggies and my friend had the oxtail With Mac and cheese

Upon entering we were greeted. However, there was food on the floor from other customers at our table. Our server was great. The food was great, very plenty, and filling. Drink was a bit week.

On weekenda when its packed only take people with reservations only because we had to wait 1 hr to be seated with a 630pm reservation and even longer to eat but food and my waitress was amazing.

The food was tasty. The amount of food was exceptional. Ambiance was nice. Price was so so. Try the 2 samplers they have or the lamb chops.

Simpson was fantastic!! The host/hostess were very friendly when you entered. The place as a whole had a very upbeat vibe and everyone was very friendly. Gave a sense of comfortability. Music definitely gave great vibes.

We had a wonderful experience at The Simpson yesterday evening. Our table was awaiting us prior to our reservation time. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Everyone ensured that we had an excellent evening. I especially would like to commend our wait staff headed by Yadira for their exceptional service and recommendations. I can't wait to go back.

Took a while to get our food. We got the appetizer the same time as the main dish due to the length of time it took for us to get the appetizer. We also witnessed a couple came after us and got served their food before our table did. And also the length of time it took for us to get the drinks we ordered try could do much better with that.

Made reservations, no wait seated as we arrived. Waitress came over took our order. Manager walked around (NEVER STOPPED AT OUR TABLE)introducing himself and assisting the waitress. Drinks came out they were fair nothing to rave about. Food arrived, didn’t take long. I had the oxtail Mac and cheese, dry and extremely salty. My friend ordered the Lamb and mash that was good. Advertisements made it more than it was. Try for yourself.

The staff was excellent and checked in on us often to make sure we were good. The vibe in the restaurant was very up beat and trendy. Perfectly located for Barclays Center events. Simpson himself spoke with us twice and could not have been more hospitable. They are opening a location in Atlantic City and can’t wait

Overall, an excellent experience! A little understaffed, which explains the slow service, but it is still worthwhile! The food was cooked to perfection. Caramel cheesecake was delicious! Tiramisu could have been a little more flavorful, but the texture and presentation were great! Will be back soon!

I was not pleased with the customer service I received at the simpson and doubt I will return. I have patroned here several times and each time the quality of service seems to diminish. The hostess staff does not communicate effectively, despite having a reservation I still had to wait past my reservation for a restaurant that was 30% full. I was taken to a low seating table in the back of the restaurant as though I was just a walk in to inform the hostest I have a reservation to then be walked back to the booth side of the restaurant because instead of clarifying if I had a reservation when I checked in with the other hostess more time was wasted to establish what could have been addressed previously. The server Tamika was great, the food was great. The entrees took entirely too long. As I was ordering appetizers, I was informed all 3 of the ones I ordered were not available so I had adjust my choice which is understandable. Despite putting birthday on the reservation, that was overlooked so I ended my evening as soon as I could. If you are going to have opentable as a platform, please use it to its full capacity and acknowledge what is placed on booking.

I made a reservation and got there early and still had to wait over 15mins, then when we sat and ordered our drinks and food, the food came before the drinks, then I asked where’s our drinks we never got it, then some guy in a button up, looking like he’s a supervisor comes and takes the drink order again, no apology or anything, then we was leaving asked for the bill 3 times before we got it, then once we got it we gave her the money and she kept the change didn’t even ask us if we wanted it back or anything, it’s a nice place but they need to hire more people and have a better reservation system then they do, it was like they was over booked. Food was good, drink was ok

Our reservation was for 6:30pm we arrived at 6:23pm and was not seated till 7:15pm. We waited for a little while for the server to come and take our order. We received our drinks (Pepsi & lemonade) about 2 minutes before our meal arrived. The person that delivered the meal to the table couldn’t get it off the tray so I had to help him. We did mention to the server that we were going to the concert at Barclay however that didn’t make a difference because I had to pack my food to go because it took too long. When I asked for the check she took another 15 minutes to return with it. The food was tasteful however it was not a pleasant experience as I would have hoped for.

Marissa the waitress was phenomenal. I would recommend her to service any table. She made sure our food and drinks were out to us in a timely fashion, and she does her thing making the drinks as well. She is the best hands down, and I will forever ask for her as my waitress when I visit.

Definitely make reservations. We waited about 10 to 15 for a waitress to come to us. Food was Aaaaaaamazing. Our food took forever that's the only downfall. But we will go again. Bammy and aki small portion but very good The Drink Barclay was on point. Jerk chicken banginggggg Oxtail yummmmyyy Mac & Cheese babbbbyyyyyyyy Caramel Cheesecake on point.!!! Chicken & waffles gooddddt I feel that can be in the children menu. 🤔 But go and check it out.. everyone super nice and friendly.

We had an 8o’clock reservation and we got there and had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was under staffed. No waitress ever came to take our order. Thank goodness Edgar came over and helped us.

My first experience at The Simpson Restaurant & Bar was fantastic. I had the Rasta Pasta with Salmon. Well seasoned and delicious. I would have it again. Looking forward to going again and again to eat thru the menu.

Lots & lots of people. Entryway is packed with folks waiting on tables or takeout. Very busy hostess stand. Our hostess was friendly. Took our waitress about 15 minutes to greet us. A bit long but her service was great. TV screens were playing DJ Cassidy videos (old school hip hop, r&b, reggae). At one point the videos stopped & there was no more music. Apps: spring rolls are yummy; cod fritters didn’t taste fresh. Drinks: rum punch was good. Entrees: oxtail was yummy, goat was good. Overall, way too much going on here…singing HBD every 5 mins. Restaurants that sing HBD are not for me. The crowd did seem to enjoy the vibe, though.
