The Salt Line, the popular DC homage to New England’s iconic fish and oyster houses, brings a third location to Bethesda Row. New England meets the Chesapeake at this beauty of a restaurant with lots of comfy booth seating and an inviting u shaped bar and lounge area. Menu features all the classics and raw bar guests have come to love from the original The Salt Line plus some delicious new surprises from award winning The Salt Line Chef Kyle Bailey and Bethesda Executive Chef Eric McKamey.

    Thus is an attractive restaurant. We enjoyed good service. The entrees were good; not spectacular. We ordered entree salads.

    Terrific DELMARVA experience. But applicable to any coastal “feel.” Seafood too notch. Portuguese soup delicious! Eager to return to this Bethesda gem!

    this restaurant is a gem. Everything was fresh and amazing. The service was friendly, courteous, and engaging. I typically don’t write online reviews, but I’m making an exception because we had such a nice time.

    Very friendly and well trained servers who handled a sudden storm well. Food was excellent and very fresh. Outdoor dining was nicely shaded and raised above street level.

    We had the seafood tower-excellent shellfish with very good sauces. Quite expensive, but we would go back for a splurge.

    Appetizers and entrées were all very fresh, and well prepared. Service was excellent. Price points take a little getting used to.

    Great food and service. Rhubarb pies were not advertised as icebox pies. Clarify this. We were sat at a cramped 2 seater booth, with reservations, when plenty of larger booths were still open with parties of 2 being sat there. I was wearing Armani shoes. Maybe the gay couple shouldn’t wear Nationals hats next time?

    Lunch was not noisy. We ordered a cup and a bowl of clam chowder respectively and found it light, not heavily creamy, which was fine with us. Flavor was good. We both had the fried clam appetizer, which with the soup, was a sufficient lunch. Big fans of belly clams, they were very good but could have used more seasoning. We found ourselves loading them up with tartar sauce which we'd have used less of if they had had more flavor. But belly clams are rare in these parts so we were just grateful they were on the menu. Service was fine, unobtrusive, not cloying. In terms of value, $21 seems like a lot for around 8 clams but willing to pay it when the craving hits.
