In the spring of 2015, the Rush family pursued a long lived dream of opening a family friendly restaurant their home of Lake Forest, California. These California natives have been business owners of various companies over the past 20 years. Took the family (including a 12 and 14 year old) for an early Mother's Day dinner at The Rush. There was a painting party going on, so we were sat near the bar. We're sports fans so we all enjoyed the array of TV's. Because it wasn't too busy at the early hour the noise level was relatively low. The food was great! Homemade potato chips were delish. All our sandwiches were tasty (I had the pesto chicken - really great sandwich!) We all upgraded to onion rings - they were thick, crunchy with a nice ring of sweet onion. Darn near perfect! We had attentive and friendly service. Great food, and abundant sports. We've found a new spot for fun family dinners and my husband and I look forward to date night there as well. Great job Rush! We're so happy you're in the neighborhood.

We were pleasantly surprised but at the same time concerned because there were very few diners. Maybe it was Mothers Day and 12:30pm - but the place was empty. We LOVED the food and service and hope they are hopping busy most of the time because we are going back to this place OFTEN! Loved the California Burger - we had it protein style. So tasty! We all can't wait to go back.

This was our second visit and we loved the free chips on our first visit. The chips were over cooked this time, but the rest of the food was good with great service.

We had a table of eight. We placed our drink order and got them in a timely manner. When it came time to order our food, she was a little flustered because of our modifications. I ordered my burger without a bun and I believe the only other modification was adding raw and cooked onions on a burger. There were not a whole lot of modifications. The food did not all come out at one time and a lot of items were missing. She tried to bring out the missing items as she remembered them, but things were still missed. We got regular fries, not sweet potato fries. At the end, when check was dropped, she brought out two baskets of sweet potato fries. It was not a good experience.

We were looking for a place for 8 people on New Years Eve. Luckily, we found this place on Open Table and booked it 45 minutes before. The food was great - and we especially loved the free chips in the beginning!
