Since taking over the venue, we have been working hard to transform the building into a truly special pub, restaurant and coffee house.

Whatever reason you may have for visiting us – a healthy or hearty breakfast, a coffee with home-baking beside our wood-burning stove or downstairs with the kids in the play area, fantastic food with family in our restaurant, a glass of wine or a local beer with friends in our bar or on the riverside terrace – we assure you of a friendly welcome from staff who care.

Please let us know when you book if you are bringing your dog and we will reserve a suitable table.

The Riverside really is our dream come true and we look forward to welcoming you through its doors.

As a usually happy customer I was most disappointed with the cod main dish on last visit. Consisted of 2 small, thin tail ends of cod with a tasteless risotto and the Parmesan crisps were chewy to the point of inedible. This recipe needs a serious review !

Booked a table for my wife’s birthday on a trip north. Food was excellent, as were the staff with a nice touch of a complimentary drink to celebrate. Thank you.

A last minute decision to eat out after a long week. Both of us had burgers, one gluten free. It was delicious. Felt very safe for the coeliac. Wine and olives were also very good

£110 for a family of four (two young kids), was too much. Kids menu very overpriced. Service wasn't great. Waiters hanging around at the bar chatting instead of getting things organised. Waited 30mins for the bill after the plates were cleared.

Another lovely meal at The Riverside. As usual the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. The food was delicious. Perfectly cooked Halumi Fries, Fish & Chips and a very tasty Margarita Pizza. The Decaf coffee is also really good. Loads of flavour. We would both highly recommend.

Welcomed when we arrived and immediately led to our table. Service was quick and helpful and the ambience was very pleasant. The food was excellent. We found the staff were excellent and attentive. Once we had finished our meal we were happy to stay and chat without being interrupted and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We would be happy to visit again.

We had a really lovely visit. My first and I will be back. Lovely atmosphere, really nice room. Very friendly staff. Oh and the food was good too.

Second time we’ve ate there and found it again to be in a convenient position for us to visit on the train ,this time we met a friend from Perth who also came by train so alcohol was consumed 😜 Food is decent and service is first class

As always our visit to the Riverside was very pleasant with good food and service. We visit approx every 6 to 8 weeks and are always impressed to the extent we never even considering any other restaurant.

Some of the food was nice but some not so, mines was fine but my parents not so great, was far too dark had to use a phone to read the menu

The food was fantastic and the staff were great. As a wheelchair user, the access is brilliant and there’s a good number of accessible parking spaces nearby.

Really lovely staff, lovely atmosphere with a log burner but also light and clean. Dogs welcome, so that is a plus. Very popular restaurant, really nice food.

Loved this place! They have a separate gluten free menu and all the sandwiches can be made with gf bread too. Lovely restaurant, lovely staff and great service. Would definitely recommend.

Noisy dogs being fed at table by owners, very unhygienic . Dog sitting at table. Fosh and chips good , cod risotto poor. Service friendly. Crème brûlée nicely presented but tasteless

Been here before for lunch while staying in Dunblane so decided to book Dinner when up this way. Homemade Pate was fabulous, hubby had the King Prawns with Tuscan sausage and tomato beautiful. Steak to follow cooked perfectly. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Certainly return when back this way.

Friendly staff, great cocktails, lovely relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Was disappointed with two meals - vegetarian penang curry (great flavour but portion size of the actual curry part very small) and king prawn linguine - absolutely swimming in oil, and again, small portion size. Other meals enjoyed.

Great food and service once again at the Riverside. Despite it being a busy Saturday lunchtime, the service was very efficient and professional. Always made to feel welcome as is our dog.

I think the chef, mustave lost track of time.. coz the burger was cremated.. but will give praise for the onion rings.. top marks, nice view.. if the weather was better.

Starters were lovely however the mains took a long time and when they eventually came one of the orders was wrong . I had to eat mine and as a result I finished my meal before my wife’s meal arrived . We were there for almost 2 hours for 2 courses
