This is not the ideal spot for large groups. Gratuity is automatic, so I’m not sure if that’s why the level of customer service, promptness and friendliness was lacking. It was like pulling teeth to get them to modify the reservation to 12 people- and when they did, they changed the time to 15 minutes earlier without my knowledge. When some members of my party started to arrive at the time that we set the reservation for, we were “threatened” with the thought of not being able to sit together, even though the restaurant was practically empty. When finally seated, it was an hour before we were able to put in entree orders as the waitress wanted to get drink orders in first. Total time was 2 hours before the meal hit the table. The music is good as we were there for the last hour of the gospel brunch that led into some 2000’s R&B. The noise level is a bit loud for table conversations, but expected for a restaurant DJ experience. The food and drinks were ok, nothing to bring me back though.

The service, decor, and ambiance was top notch! From the hostess to the manager, everyone was was inviting, welcoming and very easy to talk to. The server, Val, was outstanding! She helped us decide drinks because she’s also the bar manager. However, the drinks were subpar at best. Tasted good but missing that punch you expect with an alcoholic beverage. The live music was definitely a plus. And to the food…very mediocre. I got fried catfish and Mac & cheese. It was 1 1/2 pieces of catfish cut up so it looked like 3 pieces. The “mac & cheese” was comparable to what Boston Market sells. I sent that back and got a baked potato. It was better. Oh, it was $30 for the fish and one side! Overall, not worth the money but an experience with the live music, vibe and beautiful decor nonetheless.

I definitely enjoyed the dinner menu much better than the brunch. Unfortunately, the salmon croquettes weren’t good at all and the chicken and waffles were less than mediocre. My sangria was good. Service was pretty good. But again, in comparison to my other visit, it wasn’t a very good experience during brunch.

The shrimp and grits were a hit/ awesome service and good vibes. I enjoyed the gospel brunch
