We enjoyed our meal very much. The lunchtime deal is excellent value for money although we did have to ask for the lunchtime deal menu as we were only offered the a la carte menu but apart from that it was lovely. The meals were delicious and the staff were lovely

An iconic venue, this used to be a bank many years ago and is in fact a Grade 2 listed building. They’ve made it into a successful restaurant with good food and great ambience.

Food we had was fab but a few things not available on both food and drinks menu, which was disappointing. It is VERY noisy!

All our food is freshly prepared and unfortunately some dishes sell out quicker than others. In regards to the noise levels, we do have our in house DJ playing on Fridays and Saturdays which can make the restaurant louder than usual. Good service and food, the DJ was slightly too load. I had the burger and it had Ox Cheek on it which I don't like, I asked if it was on top or mixed into the meat? The waitress said it was mixed in, however it came on top. Had I have known that I would have asked for it to be left off, as it put me off the burger as I scraped it off.

cutlery I was given originally wasn’t clean, food was cold and overpriced for what it was, quite a wait for food even though it wasn’t that busy. staff were lovely and the dessert was great but other than that, could go to so many other places and have a better meal/experience. never leave a review/comment but I won’t be coming back or recommending

So noisy that we did not stay. Large room with hard surfaces, tightly packed tables backing on to a packed bar and loud music made it intolerably noisy for us. The friendly staff were not able to offer us a quieter table until 30 minutes after we left, so we dined at the restaurant next door instead.

Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff that made us feel special as it was our anniversary. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing with amazing decor. Our food was fantastic just a little disappointed that there wasn’t any lobster available but that’s maybe because it was a Monday after a busy weekend. We hope to visit again in the future. Thank you to all the staff.

Food and service excellent as always but the music is far too loud for a restaurant. Not to sound middle aged but we couldn’t hold a conversation without shouting - despite the plus points don’t think we will return due to noise levels

Overcrowding, disability toilet usage by everyone, using drugs in toilets , staff overwhelmed

If we had witnessed or had been made aware that a guest was taking drugs, we would have contact the Police, removed them from the building and they would be barred for life. Beautiful restaurant. We had the bottomless brunch and decided to upgrade to premium at £60pp. But Whispering Angel wine and cocktails made this great value for money.

Food was good no issues there had a great scallop starter and the venison with truffle mash was great and perfectly cooked. Problem is that we were stuck on an end table (not sure if it was an after thought) which was positioned too close to the main walkway for every guest/server, constantly being brushed past by everyone while we were eating. Also this may sound like an odd complaint but the food service was way too fast. Starters coming out in 10 minutes was a surprise, then immediately after putting our forks down they were cleared and the mains appeared 5 minutes later. All very rushed. We were out within 45 minutes. It was Grand National day so obviously very busy but it felt like the servers just wanted you out of the door.

My first time at RBG, the building is very impressive. I liked the menu with quirky vegetarian options. I liked the soufflé and the celeriac.

I booked this based on eating quite regularly in its sister Restaurant the Opera Grill in Chester on a tuesday/wedendsay however it wasnt like that experience at all . Firstly - it was like a disco when we walked in (sunday 19.00) with music thumping , we requested a quiet table and got as quiet a one as they could manage - it was still noisey Secondly - i hadnt done my research as the sunday menu differed greatly from the midweek one so no tuna au poive and what was on offer was pretty limited and frankly disappointing We ordered oysters which were a bit on the small side and had to wait for the tobasco All in all verry disappointing though in part due to my lack of research - maybe the Opera Grill is like that on a Sunday and i didnt know as i aint there at the weekends but i wont be back to the RBG on a Sunday

It was mine and my girlfriend’s anniversary last night, we received a glass of prosecco each which was lovely. However was let down by quality and speed of service, it just took too long and when it came my steak was already cold so we didn’t even eat it

Arrived at our time we’d booked for waited to be seated at the bar but was fine as we ordered a drink. Sat to our table after about 20 minutes staff was friendly sadly we waited 2 hours for food we ordered the roast dinner so I’d imagine most of the prep is done beforehand given we’d booked and was not a walk in they should be more organised for roast dinners on Sundays. When the food arrived it was poor plenty of meat ( beef ) but not nice the trimmings were minimal 3 half potatoes tablespoon of cabbage and carrot and turnip and 5 garden peas not worth a 2 hour wait won’t be returning again for this reason.

I have been here a few times and absolutely loved it. This time however was very disappointing, we opted for the Sunday lunch very small portions. Overcooked roast potatoes lamb very fatty and a saucer of carrot and turnip with peas on for 3 of us!!! Had to pay £30 deposit can't see that on the bill!!! Have emailed restaurant to ask why this wasn't deducted off our bill still waiting....give this a miss way over priced

Un buon compromesso tra bar alla moda e ristorante di tendenza : cibo non eccezionale e prezzi alti ma normali per un locale alla moda del genere .

We went for a birthday celebration. On arrival the noise level was horrendous and the music was like a rave club! We were seated supposedly in the quiet area but were surrounded by loud obnoxious people seated at other tables. We did request to be moved to a quieter area but advised none available. The waitress did try to ask the other tables to lower the noise in respect of other diners but was ignored. She said the Manager was going to speak with them but didn’t. So for the next hour and a half we had to sit through a racket unable to hear each other whilst listening to the rave music! Meal and my Mum’s birthday celebration was totally ruined. We were offered a bottle of Prosecco as an apology but couldn’t even enjoy that over the noise. We just wanted to leave as soon as possible so left the Prosecco hardly touched. Why on earth would a restaurant play rave music at 7:30 and why were the obnoxious diners not asked to leave? So disappointed.

This is the first time I have been back to RBG since it has been refurbished. The food and service was fantastic. The only slight comment I would make if I was being picky is that we were sat next to Bar dispensary and it was a little noisy which is expected. Our waiter was amazing, sorry I didn’t get his name. Thank you for a great night we will be back again soon

Had a lovely evening not very busy Had the roast chicken dinner was really nice and a side of cauliflower cheese was too full to follow up with a dessert
