We sat outside - there were heat lamps and live music. It was beautiful

Everything was great except service which was super slow. We were there for over three hours, longer than we wanted to be. We waited a long time for our entrees, like 40 minutes. I hope to have a better experience next time.

I didn't appreciate the automatic 20% gratuity for service that was subpar. If you are going to charge 20% then your service should be better.

Great brunch in such a beautiful setting. Our kids and grandkids had such a fun time with all the activities out on the big grass lawn overlooking the ocean. They all want to do this every year now. What a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day!

Not enough high chairs. Service was mediocre. Mother’s Day brunch events was not eventful.

Had a 10 am Mother’s Day brunch reservation. Arrived early and was told to wait until 10. Checked in a couple times with the hostess after 10, they said we will be seating you soon. By 10:20 I checked in a third time with a gentleman adjacent to the hostess because now we were going to be late to our next engagement. He directed me to another hostess, she said we are ONLY seating our reservations at this time! Puzzled I apprised her that we have a reservation and have been waiting since 9:40. She finally sat us outside. The hotel prepared lots of games and activities for younger children on the lawn. It was a fixed menu and buffet, ugh! When we walked inside I had a deja vu moment of “team travel” with our children’s swim team at 2 star hotels over the years! They had a waffle bar, the toast bar where you toast your own bread with a toaster, packaged pastries still in the bag, omelet bar, a few bowls of fruit and nothing else very special. I had a terrible omelet and a generic waffle which I couldn’t finish. The americano was bitter and awful, the champagne was extra dry. The orange juice tasted like they mixed in some sort of orange flavor powder flavor? It was a terrible dining experience overall, we couldn’t wait to leave. Walking back to the car my husband who never complains about anything said wow I feel like I just got robbed! I said really, why? Then he divulged the price and it was $420 for the two of us, drinks included with gratuity. Then I was flabbergasted. The Restaurant at Laguna Cliffs needs to take a trip to Luxury Hotels in California and experience what a brunch of this price point should be. I highly recommend The Stone House Restaurant at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, and it’s even cheaper than theirs with valet and a 25% tip!

It was a great way to spend my Mother’s Day just me and hubby. We went early so everything was clean, quiet, delicious breakfast, great service and incredible view of the ocean. I didn’t want to leave.

The wait staff was outstanding. But both of our dishes came out overcooked. I ordered salmon and my fiancée ordered steak. The lava cake we ordered was extremely small, wasn’t warm, and had no lava! The cappuccino I ordered was literally all foam. We were there for our six year anniversary and it wasn’t a good experience overall. The entrée and the sides were served at different times, which isn’t that big of a deal… But at this point, everything was becoming painfully noticeable. again just to underscore- the wait staff was super friendly. Everything else though was underwhelming.
