The Red Lion Restaurant is a great traditional, warm & friendly country pub in the heart of stunning Penyffordd.

HOMEMADE SUNDAY LUNCH

Join us from 12pm to 7pm every Sunday for one of the best homemade Sunday lunches in the region. Hand cut, fresh and locally sourced vegetables & meats complimented by homemade gravy’s and sides.

SPRING MENU

We are thrilled to launch our new Spring Menu, Lounge Menu and our new & improved Sunday Menu as well as our weekly Chef's Specials Menu.

Our Main Menu, Lounge Menu & Chef's Specials Menu will be available

~ Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 5pm - 9pm

~ Friday & Saturday 12pm - 9pm

Booked for Sunday lunch birthday celebration for a group of 4. Sunday roast was fantastic with plentiful meat, crisp roasties and fresh vegetables. The pain is were lovely with chips and fresh salad. The waitress Tarryn was attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely be back

First visit after a long while. Very nice place to eat. Family gathering for five. Food and presentation fantastic. Staff well mannered and attentive. Cost not bad either. Definitely worth a visit. You wont be dissappointed

Loving the new spring menu and updated bar/lounge menu but the chef special menu is superb. Great staff and lovely atmosphere every time we visit.

Table of 9 dined today with the new Sunday menu. Had the new Black Pudding Bon Bon’s as a starter. Light and fluffy, not what I expected but pleasantly surprised. Recommend people try these! Lamb roast was as superb as ever. The minted gravy needs to be bottled and sold! My son and daughter in law sampled the new minted lamb burgers and stated ‘best burger we have ever had here’. The whole family were happy - the staff really looked after us even after they clearly had a very busy Easter Sunday. 5 stars all round

Really nice atmosphere with a pleasant ambiance - waitress was very attentive and I opted for an item from the new Chef’s Specials Menu - Trio of Lamb Chops. To say that these were the best chops I’ve ever had is an understatement. Simply delicious. Mash was creamy and plentiful, the roasted veg were devine and the mint gravy was out of this world. My dining companion had the Pie of the Day which was a Shepherd’s Pie - wow! Homemade, generous and delicious. Well done, Red Lion

This was one of my best ever Sunday dinners. It was for my Sisters birthday and I for once did not have the roast but all in the 4 group did have and although they rarely eat all clean plates all round. I had freshly that morning steak and ale pie and it was absolutely suberb the steak just melted and the gravy amazing. The most important thing for me was the triple cooked chips the best home made chips ever. Will be back for sure

We frequently go to The Red Lion Penyffordd for our Sunday Lunch and it’s delicious. The best we have had at similar places. Would definitely recommend.

Returned as a family we enjoyed a very pleasant meal. The door to the restaurant was open and would have been better if it was closed as it was cold.

Absolutely stunning Sunday lunch. Our favourite place for a Sunday lunch . Homemade and the gravy is simply perfection on a plate. Lovely vegetables cooked superbly well and the meat was fabulous and tender. My son had fish and chips and the fish was outstanding more of a whale. Thanks red lion team - top Sunday.

Again a mouthwatering meal, so much so that we had 3 courses. The waiting staff were very busy but very attentive. This is definitely one of the best places to have a great Sunday lunch and dine at lunchtimes or evenings in the week as well. Marvellous

I've had a few experiences eating out here at the Red Lion. I must say, the food is always first rate, great value and locally based. They vary their menu, seasonal treats delight!

Probably the best Sunday Roast in the area - certainly the best we’ve had. We attended Sunday 14th January and had a fantastic experience. The food was superb, the service was professional and prompt, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We would highly recommend the Red for Sunday lunch. We’ll be going again soon to try out some of the other items on the menu for sure. Thank you!

The food was amazing, the Roast Beef was so tender and the vegetables cooked to perfection, served with delicious gravy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
