    Second time I have been here as I live quite far but brought my dad this time as a treat and he absolutely loved it, the food was amazing staff were lovely,they were concerned when we left quite fast but we had left our spaniel in the car as she can be quite boisterous so we ate our food as fast as we could rather than bringing her in to cause havoc.

    Lovely place. Great food and service! Beware if you order the mixed seafood platter for two - it's delicious but enormous!!!

    Seasonal vegetables! Fat green beans, mange tout with full size peas inside and only a few sprigs of sprouting broccoli. Could do better. Very pleased you named the potatoes which were delicious.

    Service was great. Food was good, the monk fish was great, the stake was good. The sticky toffee desert was excellent.

    Fantastic starter of calamari and the potted lobster, however on the pricey side at £16.50. My wife and I had mains from the special menu, and my halibut was stunning, however my wife had the monkfish tail on a bed of risotto which was way too rich and in fact after a while quite sickly. Unfortunately she ended up having to leave half of the risotto. We mentioned this and our excellent waitress said that it would be fed back to the chef. Although the food is pretty expensive, it is definitely worth it for a special meal. The cost of the wine we actually found fairly reasonable (when compared to restaurants down South), and we enjoyed a nice bottle of Sicillian chardonnay at £27.95 Overall it was a lovely experience and we would definitely recommend. Looking forward to our next visit, but may pass on the risotto next time around.

    À special celebration for our Ruby Wedding anniversary! Everything was first class. We had underestimated the traffic so phoned ahead to apologise that we would be a few minutes late. The super staff were so welcoming and looked after us very well.

    As ever, this place never fails to impress with service, food and surroundings. Sadly due to a table of about 14 which included 4 unbelievably noisy children- we couldn’t hear each other at one point, hence the loudness mark. I think maybe they should have been asked to quieten it down, for the benefit of all the other diners. Otherwise a lovely evening.
