I had lobster bisque risotto to start and have to say it was delicious. For main I chose the Cornish Sole. It was cooked to perfection and I enjoyed every mouthful. The fish is served on the bone but it came away easily. I chose Perl Las for pudding and it finished off a delicious meal perfectly. For those who don't know, Perl Las is a welsh blue cheese. It was slightly melted onto a walnut sponge. I'd have it again for sure. My partner chose the chicken pate to start. It's a smooth pate packed with flavour. Served with a small cob like bun and chutney. He said it was one of the best pates he's tasted. However, his main was the Tandoori half chicken and he was disappointed with his choice. The chicken was just roasted, no sign of tandoori flavors. It was served with what I can only describe as the smallest portion of coconut rice we've ever seen. There were tiny servings of yoghurt and chilli oil on the side and a tablespoon of salad leaves. Luckily my partner had ordered fries as well. His sticky toffee pudding for dessert went part way to making up for his main. The service was good We had a lovely evening but tinged with a bit of disappointment. It hasn't put us off returning, we'll just ask a few more questions about the menu next time.

First time we have visited under the new owners and our only regret is that we left it so long. As ever, it's a lovely laid out traditional and clean pub with a nice friendly atmosphere and all the beverages you'd expect. We had the Sunday Lunch, and it was absolutely stunning. The veg was lovely, beef perfect, delicious gravy and roast potatoes to die for. It really was that good. For the money it's the best Sunday Lunch in the area in our opinion, and we've tried them all. The service was fantastic, nice and friendly without being overpowering. Next time we are in the market for a Sunday Lunch, we'll be visiting The Piccadilly and intend to go back to during the week to sample their daily menu. I'm not into leaving reviews, good or bad, but had to make the effort this time. It was outstanding.

Another lovely lunch time meal. Tried the puddings on this visit and we were not disappointed…. The pebble 🩶 and lemon curd 💛 were outstanding! We also got to meet Buddy!

Second visit since reopening as wanted to return to give them a chance after the first visit wasn’t great but we put it down to them finding their feet and we are locals so wanted to support this place. Unfortunately the second visit was worse! Food inedible and poor quality, they’ve changed the menu and offering cheaper equivalents now..steak frites used to have thick home cut chips, now thin frozen type things. Staff seemed to struggle with everything in relation to service, no cutlery, no basic condiments of salt/pepper, no check ins on how your meal was when we did have issues but no one came, in an establishment that charges unbelievable high prices for food this should be a must! Such a shame as we’ve waited a long time for this place to re-open, it was absolutely dead quiet on a Saturday evening so shows others are realising the same. Would not return or recommend.

First time back after reopening and was a little disappointed with the food. Burger was overcooked, bun was HOT (suspect it had been left under the heat lamp). Fish was OK but the crushed peas were quite unpleasant, cold and tasteless. Both were a little overpriced for the quality.
