Le restaurant THE PENTHOUSE de l'hôtel The Huntley vous accueille dans un cadre ultra-lounge à couper le souffle, avec des cabanes de plage, des espaces à ciel ouvert, des comptoirs argentés et des bougies nues. Le célèbre designer Thomas Schoos (connu pour son travail dans des restaurants tels que le Koi et le TAO New York/Las Vegas) a fait équipe avec le chef exécutif Kevin Meyer pour manifester une nouvelle célébration visuelle des sens. Le Penthouse propose un menu américain contemporain avec des influences mondiales audacieuses. Made 7:00 PM reservations requested a window table and upon arrival was told non were available and had to wait 30 minutes for window table. Purpose for the reservation time and table locations was to be able to see the sunset over the ocean which was at risk waiting for my 7:00 pm reservation at was sat at 7:40 pm. Waited to water, waiter, bread, etc. Services was underwhelming putting it mildly. Menu is very limited from my previous visits. It I return it will only be for the lounge and appetizers won’t chance the restaurant again.

We had a table near their "private room" which was another area of the restaurant separated by a curtain. They had an auction going for 90 minutes from 730pm when we sat down until a little after 9pm. The noise was so terrible, we could not hear ourselves across the table nor the on-duty manager when she came to our table to discuss the matter. It completely ruined our evening. The food was good, though the wait person was totally unengaging. Poor service, noise levels drowning out conversation made for an awful evening that the free bottle of wine simply could not compensate for. I would not revisit this restaurant, nor recommend it. If anyone were to book, I would first inquire if there is a private function and if there is to get a table as far away from the area as possible.

First impressions on entering dining room good, with stylish bar, comfy sofas and dining booths. We were taken to a corner of the dining room which felt more like a canteen. As diners were leaving the staff were re-setting the tables (for breakfast I assume) so we ate to the clatter of cutlery and crockery being replaced. The food was ok but didn’t warrant the high prices charged. A disappointing last evening in Santa Monica compared to our other dining experiences during our stay.

Outstanding in every way. Everything we ordered from appetizers to entrees to fabulous desserts was perfection!! The service was outstanding-professional and efficient. The Penthouse made the 20th wedding anniversary we were celebrating very special. We enjoyed our dinner so much that my daughters and I are returning for Mother’s Day Brunch. I can’t wait!!!

The service here was impeccable, and the view breathtaking - do yourself a favor and come for the sunset. Oysters were fresh. The handmade cavatelli pasta was delicious but one star dropped because the short ribs were noticeably overcooked. The catch of the day was striped bass which was quite good with the coconut milk sauce and blistered vine-ripened tomatoes. Dessert was probably the best part, the chocolate mille-feuille was light but delectable.

Haven’t been here since pre Covid and was really looking forward to it Unfortunately the service was awful, waiter barely checked on us and at one point was no where to be seen for 10 minutes. When he did come by we were rushed and the appetizers and food came almost at the same time Despite asking other servers a few times we never got to order a 2nd drink The food was hit and miss. Half of my dish was cold, while one of the others in our party had cold food as well. No waiter around to rectify that The food itself was rather uninspired- nothing interesting or creative, just your basic pastas and seafood with little flavor or nuance Good place for a drink but won’t bother with eating there again- too many other better places nearby. Pity.

I ordered oysters, the baguette with the best butter I have ever tasted, Mary’s chicken, and a side of mashed potatoes, which I highly recommend to pair with. My meal was absolutely fantastic. It was truly the best baked chicken that I have ever tasted at a restaurant, 10 out of 10, it is a must try.

Always a crowd pleasing view and ambiance. The food is delicious & the staff is always friendly and helpful. I do wish there were more food options and I have never understood why the glass elevator is constantly out of order.

Beautiful view from some tables however it was so loud and tables on top of each other! Food presentation was lovely but honestly not worth the price when you can’t hear anything! So disappointed as we were celebrating our daughters birthday there!

4 different people came to ask if we want water. We ordered two drinks and only one of them came. We then had to order the second drink. It took so much time for them to stop by the table again to take the food order. When the server came, we ordered our appetizers and main course. We waited more than 25 minute for the food and server came to ask if we wanted desert while we didn't have the main course yet. It was ridiculous. I put a note to the reservation saying that I will ask my date to be my girlfriend and I wanted to corner table. Servers got confused and they brought fireworks with the desert and screamed “CELEBRATION”. Me and my date was so embarrassed that we could not stay serious for a single second. I ended up paying $225 for two person for a joke night out. We will not come back to this place ever again.

Pre fix menu is a great choice and we loved all courses. The menu had great choices and service was very nice. Note that the hotel valet parking is discounted to $10 if you get the ticket stamped at the restaurant.

The Penthouse is my favorite treat myself restaurant and is the first restaurant I think of when I want to take my friend somewhere new! The manager was so sweet and very interactive with the tables which I appreciate and our server was fast and gave great recommendations. Food is always delicious here and never a long wait, this being paired with a great view that is to die for especially around sunset is unbeatable! This is a can’t miss spot!

We enjoyed a fabulous brunch on Sunday Morning. The Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas were delicious. Our table had Avacado toast.Traditional eggs Benedict, breakfast burrito and gem salads with salmon. Everyone loved their dishes and we will be back soon to enjoy another beautiful time. The service was wonderful!

We had a very good brunch at the Penthouse. Our server Brandon was fantastic. He was very attentive and always had a smile on his face.

The views! Excellent place to brunch in Santa Monica. The food was delicious. Women’s bath has stall with oceanfront views!

It has a beautiful view and the ambience is very nice, the service was very good and out family had a great Easter brunch with them.

The most obvious benefit for The Penthouse is the amazing views from most angles of the restaurant. The food has always been consistently good and the 3 course Easter “Experience” was really amazing. Our server Brandon M. was so attentive, personable, and professional which made the whole stay well worth the money! The rest of the staff were all friendly and professional as well as very diligent on watching the table and asking about our needs. The ambiance is a good vibe but at peak capacity it can be very loud but we managed a good time for the brunch and the restaurant cleared out quickly before dinner service. Highly recommend The Penthouse especially for it consistent high quality food and drinks.

There were a lot of glitches in the service, perhaps because it was Easter Sunday brunch and very crowded, but people were very polite, even when tipping over a full glass ice ice water into my lap. The food was much too sweet. Everything had too much sugar in it, even the butter. I felt faint as I was leaving the restaurant and the people attended to me beautifully, called an ambulance and took me downstairs in a wheelchair and stayed with me until I was checked out. Kudos to them for their service and pleasantness. The same with the terrific valet attendants. Thank you to all who cared and helped.

Reservation was delayed and took almost an hour to be seated for the Malibu Experience. The food courses came out super slow and the seafood was overcooked. Overpriced for the cost. Will not be returning for dinner.
